125 Hydro Pump install
http://ccmanuals.info/pdf/NF%20Hydra...s%20Manual.pdf
I need good pics of # 10 & 19 in the link above. so I can make it.... or if someone has parts for sale (I'll put it in the parts wanted) but really only need some good pics with a few measurements. Ill put some pics on tonight.. thanks Ya'll :beerchug: PS. also need the belt size.... thanks. |
Doug,
I have a rockshaft that has already been cut to specs for a hydro lift that you are welcome to and I have an electric lift that has part #19 on that you can measure and adapt (the hydraulic lift one is 3/4" narrower) and I have that cleavis on my electric lift that you can measure as well. Just need to find some time to get together---sorry, doing an entire house remodel and time isn't on my side. PM me after next Wed. and we can try to set up a time. This is a thread that I posted years ago with some really good help and pics....hope that it helps you also! http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=1429 Cub Cadet 123 |
Gosh! You beat me to this thread! :Duel: :biggrin2:
Well, if you need any more pictures...You have my number, Doug! :beerchug: |
why is the #9 cyl clevis so long? and then use # 10 locking clip, to keep it from using the full travel in the #9 slot.
stupid if you ask me.. or does the locking clip move out of the way to let it float? http://onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12956 http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...adets/1763.jpg |

I don't have a locking clip on mine, but I believe that's what it's designed to do. :beerchug: |

Few Pic's

I thought I would take the hydro pump install a little farther
it has 3 rattle can paint jobs on it and all look like crap..!! I covered it in paint stripper and then pressure washed it. got it down to the OE paint and some primer. I'll putt stripper on it one more time and call it ready to sand and prime. |
Doug,
The arm in the second picture, on the rockshaft, doesn't appear to be angled correctly for you to run any lift bars on. The part on the rockshaft should actually bent at an odd angle. Cub Cadet 123 |
thats what was left on it after cutting the welds on the arm. the manual shows were the cut it to bolt the mounting bracket. Im going to try to heat and bend whats in the pic to work on the pump.
also need a pic of how the front blade rod mounts to it..... |
In order to mount the rod, one of the tips needs to be adjusted---sorry, I forget exactly how. I know since I had to use an electric lift rockshaft part for my hydraulic lift that I had to fabricate a rod that is 3/4" further out than the standard rod in order to make clearance. I use steel braided cable for and a set of U-bolts on some of my equipment, which tests to 750 lbs., and I believe it works quite well.

does anyone made/sell a SEAL KIT for this pump?
|
I bought my gaskets and o-rings from the Cub Cadet dealer. I will text you in a bit. :beerchug:

More Pics, Pump Install

I used what was there after I cut the pull handle off. I think the pics show how I did it pretty good. what do you think... :bigthink:
once I got the 90* bend in it , I had to heat and twist the bracket (pic3) I'll start on the retainer clip next. but really not needed. if I have a plow or blade on it , the weight will pull the lift bracket forward anyway. I think this is a good mod if someone buys a pump and the PO doesnt give you all the parts. I dont think it looks too cobbed up.. |
Looks pretty good, to me! :beerchug:

should I keep the Rat Rod Shifter look to the lift lever ? :bigthink: :biggrin2:

Looks good to me! |
Looks good Doug :beerchug:

Doug,
That is a good replacement on the lift bracket that you have done, but the rat rod look seems too long and bother some--so I would cut it back. I really liked your adjustable pin that you put in your lift--nice idea and forsight to make it adjustable. Cub Cadet 123 |
Looks nice, Doug!

could someone get me the size of the drive belt? thanks..

cool thanks. a 33" sounds long but I'll pick one up in the morn so I can get the engine in.
thanks jeff. |

Looks good, did you try to mount the 3 pt hitch lift bar block to the rockshaft?
|
I never unbolted it, its still on it. by working the pump by hand it seems to be working fine. I'll know in a day or so how well it works via the engine.

the 3/8"x33" belt is correct. here are some almost 100% installed pics. I posted them in my build thread but thought I'd post them here too.
|
Wow Doug! That looks like an entirely different cub from the last time that I saw it. Have you tried it out yet? That is going to be one heck of a neat cub---maybe one of your favorites. Awesome work.

I posted this on my build thread , but should of put it here. so I will..
I worked on the lever control this morning. all I had was the piece thats screwed into the pump. the stock lever is way to short and you need to lean up to use it. so this is what I came up with. amazing what you can do with a torch. I can work the lever with my wrist resting on my knee. in the center position the knob is 4" from my knee, when I pull it back its an inch or so from my knee. and Ive climbed on and off , on the pump side and had no issues with the lever being in the way. so Im calling that part done. now for the hydro lines. |
Very nice!
|
Doug,
Your restoration is coming along great! You have done a nice job engineering some of the hard to find parts for that hydro pump. Cub Cadet 123 |
I found a bad pump gear inside it the other day . I ordered the new gear set from CC Specialties. I had um next day aired . so by noon tomorrow should be the day.
