Picked this green thing up today at the scrap yard. A John Queer 212 :banned:

It didn't take much to get it to run but will not charge,needs a stator.Runs great but their version of iso mounts were shot and one was missing.It has hydro lift on it.
Too bad it wont look like this after Saturday. :biggrin2:

I had my helper 107 drag its green butt to its final demise...

Those hydro lifs are pretty rare on the deeres. My buddy has one on his 214

Those 200 series (210-216) Deeres are good tractors, I still have one as a backup for my cub.
Their rubber mounting system for the engine is very good, putting the mounts @ the crankshaft centerline.
it makes for less vibration.
I wished cub would of done that.

I firmly believe these john deeres were far superior to cub.cadets quiet line series. For the iso mounts, ease of operation and looks. Quiet lines are UGLY compared to these

These look better than the the QL's? Really. :bigthink: No way these look better than a QL or any cub. As far as overall I have no experience with deere's but I doubt they are far superior to a QL.

in my opinion they are. i had a 210 and a 1450 cub both at the same time, and the 210 was my favorite out of the two. i can't stand the way the quiet lines look with side panels and the way the front end is shaped. now if it were a 1X8, 1X9 series and 82 series, thats a different story. but the quiet lines in my opinion are the worst looking cubs they made. my personal favorite is the Original and the John Deere 110 with round fenders. both have that vintage look to them.

People give the quietlines a bad rap but they made 6 models and they were made for the most years out of the rest of the IH built garden tractors so alot of people liked the looks of them!:beerchug: My 0.02!

I have NEVER understood the QL bashing!

People say they like looks of the 1X8/1X9 series and the X82 series, but don't like the QLs...........

The nose of the WF compared to the QL is different by way of a divider between the headlights.....and of course the engine sidecovers that people complain about. WFs have flex coupler in the driveline (as does an Original) but nobody complains about them....

The X82s don't divide the grill from the lights, otherwise the fronts are not that much different than a QL....and they have sidecovers and flex couplings on both ends of the driveshaft like a QL, yet nobody complains about them on an X82.

I've never heard one complaint about the ISO mounts on a 1282, etc.

Virtually all generators all use ISO mounts, but I don't remember anybody complaining about them.

My 1450 has absolutely NO problem with a 50A/C deck, a QA42A snowthrower, a #2 tiller, and a 12" Brinly plow.

I have seen first hand at a Plowday event, a JD 420 struggle (jumping over the furrow, getting hung up, etc) with a 12" Cat O plow, while my 1450 had no problems with my sleeve hitch mounted 12" Brinly.

My QL 1450 -VS- a Lawn Fawn= NO comparison!

I have no issues with QL's or Deere's. I like some of both, deal with it.:biggrin2:

Well it looks like the JD system has its flaws.ISO's didn't seem to work here... :bigthink:

Those ISO mounts were asked to do a tough job....hold up a cast iron Kohler engine for many years/hours.

The ISO mounts in that Dear John are shot!
