3 point blades

2 Attachment(s)
I have a chance to buy two different 3 point hitch blades. The John Deere  blade is 5 feet wide and is small category 1 but has the category 0 pins. The gentleman says it is 22" wide at the frame. Model 135 approximately $200. The the other I have no idea what brand it is but it is 4 feet wide and is a category 0. The price is $40. Would the John Deere be too heavy? The 4' one is cheap but really not wide enough... by the way I am putting it behind a 2072. What's the recommendation?? Thanks! :beerchug:

Check and see if your lower links open up enough to get the Deere blade on if they do buy it and try it out. If it was me I’d buy both and then sell the one you don’t like or that won’t fit.:beerchug:

Now that is a great idea! :bigthink: If only I had the $$!!! :bash2: I like your thinking Sam!! :beerchug:

I agree buy both and play with them and then sell the one you don't like

I run a 5 ft brinly on my cubs and it handles it fine. The only thing I see about the JD one is it's not very tall, so if you plan to use it for snow it might not work very well, but it would be great for gravel and dirt. The 4 foot one would be great for a normal GT, but it's a little narrow for a super, though its a great deal:bigthink:

i go with the five footer myself that what i have it's not jd one but it a 5' it works get behind my super

I'd buy which ever one 1) will fit and 2) is built of the heaviest material available. The rear blade that dad put on his H is made for a 100 HP tractor (the H is only 25) and we've bent the pins off the ends before.

Called the guy with the JD blade this morning and he sold it... oh well...

New 5' blade! Got it for $200... a little more than what I wanted to pay but it is really heavy duty!

Your super and blade look great, Darrell!

cub123 01-15-2013 06:45 PM

Looks good! I like those weights, I'm amazed it wont lift the haban and the woods though, my 982 can lift the haban and a load of wood

Huh... I'm not sure... maybe my lift cylinder is bad? It sure lifts the rear blade with ease but then it just barely lifts the front up an inch! :bigthink:
