Seller has no serial number except he said it starts with a "3"?

Have him get you the serial number.

cubs-n-bxrs 01-08-2013 01:11 PM

I'm gonna say 2165 is the model #.

2160 or a 2165. A pic of the other side and I could tell you. Price is high for one of those with no engine.

The serial number on the mower deck is 301100.

Just so you understand, my first email I gave him my cell phone number and asked for his along with a model number of the tractor. I got neither I guess because it looks like the side panels are gone.

I asked (email) for the serial number. He can't find it.

I emailed back and asked for the model number on the deck and told him things would be a lot simpler had we exchanged phone numbers. Didn't get his number. He gave me the deck model number and and told me he's very busy but he'd look FOR ME! For me? :bs:That's it.

I know, it's a $100 piece to me, that is if I want it. Don't really feel like trying to suck anymore info out of him.

If the mower deck # ID's it, please let me know. Thanks.

Yes Sam. I know and you know. This guy is either too lazy to look or ?????????

I just emailed him an offer. Likely he won't take it but my offer matched the quality of his sales pitch.

That'e great way to handle that!:beer2:

I got a very snotty email back from the seller responding to my offer. He told me my offer was insulting and not to further waste his time.

I responded back that a quick phone call as I had requested from the start would have saved both of us some time but that didn't happen.

So, to anyone who might be following this, based on the info you see here, what would you have offered, especially if you didn't particularly need anything off the tractor? You have as much info as I had.

What??? Where is the MOTOR/ENGINE??? Take it or leave IMO...your best offer...forget the chit chat...Peace:beerchug:

Mike

I bought a running 2185 last year for $200.00 with no deck. I also bought a running 2160 also with no deck for $200.00. That tractor to me is a $50.00 organ donor and that's assuming it's a 2165. If it's a 2160 See Ya I Gotta Go

Mike McKown 01-10-2013 06:12 AM

I offered him $100 only because I have a running 16 hp Vanguard that needs a flywheel ring gear.

He was offended!:biggrin2:

Told me he'd turned down $200 twice!

cubs-n-bxrs 01-10-2013 07:29 AM

guess he should have taken the $200 twice then he would have made $400 on that junker.
