Hydraulic Cylinder information for the 42/54" plow

I had found this thread: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...hydraulic+plow

and I just looked on partstree to see if I could find out what size bore/stroke the cylinder had to be (I know it's double acting). I had seen someone post one in that thread that was 1.5" bore and 6" stroke, but wasn't sure if that was the correct information--does anyone have the correct information on that part?

Trying to see how much it would cost to make a non-hydraulic plow hydraulic.

Thanks

I think I found a wide frame plow and will be making the trek to pick it up this weekend; anyone out there have the hydraulic information for the kit or the hydraulic cylinder used in the kit to make it a power angle plow?

I found these hydrualic cylinders to be pretty reasonable.

Thanks in advance.

That sounds about right...

Personally, I can't see the heftiness of that cylinder just to angle the blade.

Yeah, I went on youtube and watched one fully extend/retract, and it looks like the stroke is somewhere between 8-12" though, I think 6" is too short. I'm thinking it could even be 12", just not sure.

EDIT: Went back and watched the youtube video and you can't see the cylinder I guess, but the blade does move quite a bit. Hopefully someone on here might have one and have the info.

According to the CPE-2A Manual, it says 1-1/2" x 7-1/2"

Awesome, again, thank you Roland! I think the 8" stroke might work out then, the 6" might be a little too small. This guy for future onlookers.

Pretty sure there is two different sizes on the ram for the cylinders.

I think when the cylinders came out for the QL's , they had the smaller rams.

Somewhere when the 82 series came out is when they went to a bigger ram. Not sure if the cylinders are all the same size ??

I have an angling kit and the ram is smaller than the one in Rolands pic.

I have to disagree, since the cylinder holds the blade at whatever angle it's set at, it would need to be fairly hefty. It would have to withstand any pressure applied to the blade.

The early hyd. angle cyl. for the quiet lines were a smaller cyl and ram and were prone to bending on the 54in. blade. the 82 series have the larger cyl. and ram as in the above pic. Mark

Do you know if this cylinder would handle a 42" or a 54" blade? It looks pretty solid.

I'm not exactly sure what the 'close distance' is that you're referring to (I'm a noob)--are you talking about how big the thing is closed (retracted)?

Thanks for the link to the surpluscenter as well, that will save me a bit of $$.

closed center is the distance when its close (Retracted) center of mount holes it matters it can very i seen a cyl with a 8 in stroke but close center of 48" do to mounting and as short 14" on same stroke My manual didn't tell me any size if i get a chance and be able to i measure mine
