Here in Mid Michigan.......snow is gone. It was 58° yesterday and it didn't fall below freezing last night. 39° was we speak. BUT, I am sure we will get more snow as the winter progresses.

We had about a foot still two days ago here, but it's been 40F for the past 48 hours day and night with rain so we're down to about 5-6" left right now. We got about 18" I think the week after Christmas. This rain is making my driveway a mess though after the snow, lots of ice that I need to break up, and the ground is still frozen so it's just making more ice. I'm nearly at 45 degree N lat though.

Here in SE MI the only snow that still remains is a very small pile I made when we got the late december snowfall. Lots of rain, and high temps. :bash2: I'm wishing we can get some more so I can get more seat time with the 147 and blade.

Gaden 01-14-2013 12:13 PM

I'm kinda bummed, retired, so I've got plenty of time, got my 1872 with the 54" Haban, was really looking forward to using it and all we've gotten so far is a dusting a couple of weeks ago. Oh well as they say, "Be careful what you wish for..."

Muzzy 01-14-2013 12:14 PM

It's 59 in my area of Massachusetts today. Yesterday it was pea soup fog and warm all day. That and the rain we've had pretty much melted all the snow. Time to mount the deck. I've got my lawn back.

amy3588 01-14-2013 01:58 PM

Its 23 here today an very cold,brrrr...

LOL @ putting the mower deck back on...we do have a good start at green grass already :)

OldSkull 01-14-2013 02:08 PM

Same here up in my place closer to North Pole then all of you! :biggrin2:

Last December 27 we broke a record for the snow storm of the century dating from 1971, I made a 5hr trip to Bagotville military base last Friday to pick a General drill press I bought from the "Crown" and the girl at the gate tell me last week temp goes down to -44c there! She was wearing an army green T-shirt and temp was just a tad bellow 32F, those northern girls must have antifreeze in their blood!:ScrewLoose:

PS On another subject I find a modular wood cab design perfect for your Cub Amy, the guy use angle steel for framing, I'm sure you can figure a way to adapt this to yours (Check post 17)

Oldskull,

Im thinking something lighter but im not sure what I will do yet. I still want to take it off in the spring. I like the wood because it adds weight and adds maybe more warmth. I have been thinking of using Alum as a frame and wood as a roof with rubber on top to keep it from leaking inside an to protect the roof. The front an back I was thinking wood but the sides id considered a clear plastic maybe so I can roll them up if I wanted to get more air? Im sorta torn though right now because I like the idea of enclosing it an adding doors an insulating the inside an add a small propane heater. ...im going to really give this some thoughts an work on a design. Im hoping to start making this by late spring so its ready by next fall to go on.

Flatbedford 01-14-2013 03:26 PM

If this weather keeps up I'll never find a buyer for my QA36! Almost got stuck in mud moving firewood yesterday. In mid January, I should be wgetting stuck in snow, not mud.
