Sleeve hitch with electric actuator project
 

Many moons ago (1996 ish) I bought a 20/50 mtd huskee garden tractor from tractor supply company. When I bought the tractor I bought a sleeve hitch for the tractor, here lately I've put the mtd up for sale with the intent of buying a cat 0 from xtreme when the huskee sold, but every body wants it for next to nothing and that cuts into the funds that was going to pay for the cat 0. I decided to pull the hitch off and adapt it to the cubs. What my plan is to make the rear plate that goes across the back of the frame a "fast attach" so I can use the sleeve hitch on my 1811 or 1863. At this time I'm at the initial planning stage so I'll have to see how feasible that will be. I don't know if I can attach any pictures I have windows 8 that's a whole other project. But I will try.:bigthink:

My guess is you can run a rod where the top link attaches and weld a tab to that and hook the one end of the actuator to that an the other end to the briny adapter

Thank you Sam! whats the trick to that? I wish it wasn't such a pain to get pictures from my Iphone to my computer to the forum. Does any body else have the same issue? I looked at your thread, I may have to make the (pivot) plate that bolts to the tractor still planning so I don't know yet . The huskee had the pivot point already in the plate that went across the back of the frame. BTW that's a neat idea to use a winch is there any down forch issues?

All I did was to save your pic and then rotated it then reposted it.

Yeah I think that will be the path I follow. I've pretty much got everything figured out except whether I want it to float I'm thinking not, Now I just have to find the materials and the time to get it done.

Got any close up pictures of the sleeve hitch?

Two issues I ran into that in the end will only let me use this on my 1863 #1 the overall length is to long, (I knew in that in the beginning but its what I had to work with) therefor it had to be tucked up under the rear of the fender to be able to get enough lift. #2, the problem with that is the 1811 doesn't have as big of a pocket as the 1863 so it wont fit up there. oh well, It will be just fine on the 1863 perhaps one day I'll get my cat 0. All that's left to do is the wiring, which will pretty much plug and play. Heres the pictures.

Its been awhile now, by rights I should have my wiring done. I just cant bring myself to drill a hole through the dash for the switch. I think what I'm going to do is add a steering wheel mounted trim switch or a foot actuated switch. This should kill two birds with one stone #1 not have to drill holes in my dash #2 It will make the switch location very handy to reach. I haven't found out what the contacts are rated for, I may have to add a couple of relays to carry the load.Attachment 36117

Thanks guys when I got it finished I had to dig out my rear blade just to play for a few minuets then I put the blade away its not something I'll use much but if I ever need to its there. I like the idea of having separate control of the front and rear implements. In the future I need to buy a shorter actuator so I can get more lift, Its what I had so it was the best I could get. Its still enough to give enough clearance for the rear blade.:biggrin2:
