Rebuilding 42" deck
I have been working on my mower deck getting ready for next year.
It needs new spindle bearings. And the deck needed some patching and a good coat of paint. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...weights027.jpg Spindles removed and ready to start cleaning and sanding. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...weights023.jpg Spindle assembly http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...weights024.jpg The bearing. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...weights020.jpg I always wanted to see what these bearings looked like inside. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...weights021.jpg All the bearing pieces. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...sfor149003.jpg Deck and belt covers painted. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...sfor149004.jpg Better picture of the belt covers. Ordered the bearings. Ready to reassemble when they get here. |

dieseldog558, :Thanks:

Excellent job, Diz!
|
Looks great! It's a good thing you won't need that deck for a few months, because that's how long it takes for that valspar paint to dry:Whistle:

|
Diz, who'd you get the bearings from, and what'd you pay?
The ones on my 124 are shot, which is why the deck came off immediately when bought it. Been contemplating a rebuild. |
Hey Diz.....that looks awesome.....great job....where do you guys buy most of your parts from?
|
eastonct124 and dieseldog558,
Got the bearings from Carter and Gruenwald. $64.00 ea. :Thanks: for all the nice comments. |
Thanks Diz.
And I just realized I didn't give a compliment. beautiful job! As I would only expect of you. |
Good Job Diz Jr. looks nice!
|
Awesome job, Diz! Your deck looks great! :beerchug:
|
Nice Post Diz JR. That deck is look'in good.
Couple questions, How tall are those baffles underneath the deck? How much space is between the blade edge and the edge of the Baffle? Mine were replaced and they did a crappy job on them. So I made some new baffles. Now I'm having problems with the cut on the deck. I think mine might be to tall. :bigthink: |
zelda,
When i got this deck the baffles were totaly gone so i made these out of 2"x1/8" flat bar. I don't know what the originals measured. If anyone has a deck like this and could measure the baffle i would like to know also. Just for curiosity sake:bigthink: |
