First CCC machine

Well guys I picked up my first non IH tractor. It's a red 782 without a engine, but in great shape. I plan to put my 14 horse out of my 1450 in it for now. At least until I can find a suitable twin. Any thoughts or suggestions on the swap. What do u think would be needed here are a couple of pics and of course I had a little help getting the barn fresh off of her.

Congrats on the 782! Looks to be in good shape!:beerchug:

Nice find there cubby102! Looks like you've got plenty of help there getting it ready for the new engine! I love seeing kids on and with tractors helping out. Nice tractor, Nicer Pic's!
|
the 1450 engine is not a direct bolt in the 782 you need a engine cradle from a 82 series style tractor
|
Seeing these pics makes me kick myself. I recently passed up pretty much exactly what you got plus an extra set of body panels, an the engine cradle for a single cylinder engine, plus it was IH, all for 200. I hope you enjoy what you got, you're going to love it once you get a motor for it! :beerchug:

Nice find on your 782. It cleaned up nicely.
|
Nice find!! But why do you say it's a non-IH? 782's came out under the IH banner, and yours even has the IH emblem on the front!! A lot of the emblems got knocked off those tractors.
|
I say not ih cuz its build date is 1982 has a black rearend also a black front axle. Serial tag says cub cadet insted of international. As well as dash panel (only reason I said 82 is because it still has the tags wrapped around the wiring harness that says 1982 .

Oh and jimbob..... this is that tractor. I have the cradel plus a spare hood and side shields. Small world. A buddy of mine took it in on trade. And then I got it from him.

if I am hearing right the cradle comes from a 482 not the same cradle as a k series its for a briggs 11 hp
|
I'm not sure on the cradlenpart. I'm guessin its from a 482 cuz the spare hood has the 482 sticker. Ill figure it out its just kind of a project. Who knows maybenill run across a nice twin for it

782
Hello, you need a cradle like the 1282 used. Mike

If you're looking for an engine, how about this:

If someone's looking for a twin kohler, there ya go I guess. |
That wouk d be great but if I'm payin through the teeth like that I'm definatly puting more then a 17. I'm not a purist by any means and like my power

If it is nice enough overall then you might want to consider one of the Surplus Supply's little diesels. They are a little more than a B&S or Kohler but then they are diesels. I do not know what the installation effort would be but if the final outcome was great then you would have a tractor for your grandchildren.:beerchug:
|
I have thoight about putting a one lung diesel in it. I don't beleave it would be very hard. A few minor changes in the wiring and it would be good to go. But I'm kinda wanting to stay away from diesels for the time being. Mainly because of the cost. Ill find what I'm looking for. Dont know what it is but ill know when I find it

Congrats on your 782,whatever you put in it that hydro lift will be a real arm saver.
|
Oh yea I love hydro lift. Thats why I'm second guessin pullin the engine out of the 1450
|
looks in good shape:beerchug:

Any luck deciding what to do for an engine on the 782 yet? I'm anxious to see it going :beerchug:
