I dont have the room to brake it all down at the same time , so 1 piece will get some lovin at a time. I'll work on the fenders and seat next.

Nice work. :beerchug:

Very nice work. What do you use for stripper? I'm lacking in the painting department and its all about the prep. Looks real nice already
|
Good job Doug, I need to do the same with my O hood. :beerchug:

todays stippers are not what we use to use. the EPA took all the good stuff out that made it work. the prep is 80% of it. if you want the paint to look good the body work beter be the same. I tell guys that all the time. (the paint will only look as good as the body work) im also going to put auto paint , base/clear on it. so the hood and fenders got to be right. |
Looking good, Doug!

Nice work 4SPEED

nice work:beer2:

Nice start! I use a 4.5", 60 grit flap wheel on my angle grinder. That removes paint, rust, and any deep scratches from the metal. I have used toilet bowl cleaner on the basket pulley on the 72 k241 engine for a chemical removal, but not Zip Strip. I know a friend who used something like zip strip on his '65 Chevelle.
I also use toluene for some paint removal, and metal prep. One piece at a time is how I started out on my 72, then I started to prep other parts while the finished parts cured. Thanks for sharing, I'm headed back up in the bleachers now! |
Looks good. Can't wait to see the finished project.:beerchug:

been a wile , here is some updated pics. fixed the cracks in the frame. and got some of it stripped . I'll sand blast most of it to.
I dont think Im going to use the rear lift , so Ill weld the hole in the frame and fender brackt shut. also it'll have a narrow front so the hole in the front of the frame will get welded shut too. the rear tires will be 10.50x12 ag's and the front will be tri ribs on 6'' rims |
Sweet!
I've got an "O" that I've got to get working on too! Looking forward to seeing your progress. |
Nice work! Thanks for the update and pics.

|

cub123 , no. im going to keep it. I'll use it maybe on the next one |
awesome! nice work man!

got some more sandblasting done. its about time for the big outdoor blaster pot. to save the sand Ill set up a old tent and blast inside it. I stripped the paint from most of the parts but still want to blast the rust off them.

Setting my tv to this channel! Il be doing my o soon so all the pics the better! You do awsome restos!
|
Good job Doug:beerchug:

Enjoy the ride Doug! I love seeing these tractors return to glory, or become better. What is neat, is noticing; what and how we do a metal preparation. That idea using a tent sounds quite logical!
