Installed this propane stove last weekend what an improvement over the noisy kero salamander I used in the past.:biggrin2: What are you guys using?? Anybody close (21738) interested in a old sears salamander that still works well? You will like the price (free-just pick it up) PM me.

Now I have to get the 1872 back together after a clean up/maintenance and get the plow back on before the snow flies.

Fire scares me with all the junk I own and leaking gasoline, l heat my shop & cool it with 2 1/2 ton heat pump. Good thing I'm in the south!

Yeah, I don't like those kerosene fumes or the propane fumes. The propane stove is a totally enclosed direct vent unit. It fires with outside air and all the fumes go outside. It is approved as a heating appliance so no worries about using it in a garage or home. Just gotta keep the flamables a good distance from the heat of course.

Here's mine. It's an old fuel oil heater from the 1950's I think. Made by dou-therm. Once it's warmed up on fuel oil I switch it over to burn waste oil. Works well just need to clean out the pot about once per month.
