PECO Yard Vac

Picked one of these up at the last show I was at. This one is specific for the wide frame with clamps that go round axle tubes and pins that go into the frame holes. Looks like it sat for years, Briggs code says its a 1974. I'm in the process of making it run again, sanded the points, got a rebuild kit for the carb and different fuel tank. My question is if anyone knows about these, is it supposed to have a top "cap" on it that I'm missing or is the top chute deal just supposed to dump into the open canvas bag? I have the big flex duct pieces that go from the deck to the blower and then blower to top chute, unfortunately have the wrong adapter for my 44 inch deck but it will fit the 42's I have just need the other mule for my 108 without the angled pulleys and I'm good. Thinking about modifying it some and add a much longer hose to make leaves go from point a to b. I'm seeing the company is still in business so that's cool, just haven't seen one that's cub wide fame specific like this, I hope I can get it working well. Anyway, here's a pic

Hard to tell from your picture but I believe you should have a canvas top with a vent on that thing to hold the leaves in and let the air flow out.

That's what I was thinking. Will take better pics but that's what I was thinking. I used a "trac vac" set up on a case 444 that was same principle but a little different set up growing up and those fan units make some serious air.

Mike is correct. You have one of the earlier ones--nice find--because the base (where the leaves go) is angled on the corners and the newer ones were rounded as a single piece of metal (about 95% sure of this...but not absolutely). I have the exact same model that you have. Also, there is an adapter for it that will allow it to work on the NF 60's cubs. They work extremely well, so you will be very pleased with it's performance. You could always go to an upholsterer and have them make that for you. I think you are supposed to put a trash bag in them, so that the leaves go right into your trash bag for quick dump/disposal. The company advertised that you could also haul small logs around on the tray, etc.

Got it running today, zenith carb rebuilt and different tank it runs strong, no smoke. Going to try to find a place to buy some 6 inch ID flex tubing to be able to walk the edge of my yard and get the leaves and such out of the flower beds and things. I'm liking it so far, need to find that adapter for the narrow frames though because of having the wrong deck adapter too. Anyone have a pic of the NF adapter?

I have a hose adaptor for a 42" mower deck for a narrow frame 104. 6" inch hose.

It's a universal fit, plastic and came with my first EZ VAC lawn vacuum.

The bracket is prolly the same, the spacers welded to the wide frame can prolly be made, bolted to the NF,or use a 1x6-1x7 3 point hitch frame thingy... one of these.

I have the actual adapter bracket--came with my purchase. I have several 16+ hr work days ahead. Just send me a PM to remind me if I forget and I will take some measurements and pictures for you once work lets up for me. I just got home and saw this post and I'm getting ready to start my work for tomorrow...

It would appear as though the plate that your engine is mounted is bent. My PECO had the same problem. I plan on modifying mine so It empties into a big trailer.
