The 73!
1 Attachment(s)
Going to pick this up from a fellow forum member tomorrow...
Been looking for one for quite a while. Also getting a blade on the deal too. It will be one of the few that could come off the truck under its own power! |
That's great Ryan! I don't think I would be able to catch any sleep. The 73 looks pretty good. Good luck !
|
LOL good deal Ryan. I don't have one of those yet.
|
Congrats on the nice 73, Ryan!

Good looking cub with the correct air cleaner cover and all!! You are really going to like the 73--last of the economy line tractors with the 7 hp engines.
Just plowed snow with mine the other day and there is a surprising amount of power in that engine. Would like to see pictures of it with the blade mounted. Cub Cadet 123 |

Congrats on the 73 Ryan:beer2:

Looks great. Glad to see you go it from another member. My 73 is my favorite to just drive around on, and the old 7 horse has plenty of power.
|
Congrats on the 73 Ryan!:beerchug:

After a few hours of driving through a bad snow, we finally got home withthe 73. About 15 minutes later the blade was already sold...haha. I will get pictures later. The darn thing is kind of hard to start. Looks like a quick carb cleaning will help it out.
|
Glad to hear you made it home safe Ryan!
What's your plans for it?:bigthink: |

I dont know...lets hear some suggestions! What should I do with this little guy?
|
Well lets see, leave it in your truck. take it to work and drain the oil. put it on a pallet and wire it down. Then I send speedie to come pick it up.
Ps put the rims on the pallet too |

Just came in from a joy ride with it. It had some noticeable issues since I first heard it run this morning. First, the condenser was bad. It would run very rough at high idle and die. So, pulled one out of the parts shelf and fixed that. The negative side coil nut was loose too. And the battery kept losing charge, so I noticed that one VR wire was broke. I spliced it up and it was good to go, back to charging. Still need to change oil, grease the very tight front end, and find a new air cleaner...
Here are some close up pics! |

We shall see! :biggrin2: It also needs the lift handle fixed and all the PTO linkage reinstalled. |
It also has the dreaded PO cut out above the transmission! See above pics.
|
I like 73s. They look like their bigger brothers on the front till you get to the steering wheel then it's like 10 years back as a 70.

I agree with the above statement! A combo of old and new looks...I always wanted one simply because I liked the white metal dash. |
The 73 was built in May of 1970.

Ryan,
Nice find on the 73. Did ya take back roads all the way to Polo? I picked up a 169 there a few years back from Tim G. Nice little town. I'd vote it as a keeper......... |
Nice find.
Is it a keeper? |

Agreed x3, and to add the white metal dash that's a bolt on which is cool too. |

I took hwy 64 all the way to polo basically. About the last ten miles you jog onto hwy 52. Johns one heck of a nice guy and has some nice Cubs. Its the first "out of state" purchase also. Polo IL is a cool little town. Lew, It's a keeper for now I suppose. Im thinking of bolting up the Cw-36 to it sometime soon and seeing how that works. If all goes well...maybe a repaint? |
That's a nice 73, Ryan!
