How do I find the part number for a wire harness this tractor? It has a serial number 2050601u731991.
Thank you,

Ronnie

that SN you gave should match that link. what engine do you have?

J-Mech 01-14-2014 10:54 PM

The harnesses are NLA from CC..... so where did you get one? Why won't they take it back if it is incorrect? A part number won't do you much good for a NLA part...... Unless you are looking for a NOS one. :bigthink:

ronniec 01-14-2014 10:55 PM

18 horse Kohler

ronniec 01-14-2014 10:59 PM

ok so i cant get one that way is there somebody that makes them

ken6x6 01-14-2014 11:04 PM

The 782 came with 17hp Kohler engines (series 1 and 2). Some one may have made some changes under the hood. that could be why the harness you have is not working. The 18hp Kohler is a Magnum series engine.

ronniec 01-14-2014 11:08 PM

My mistake, its series 2, 17 horse. I'm sorry I mistyped, but I still need to find one. There's snow to plow. lol

J-Mech 01-14-2014 11:29 PM

Yes, there are people who make them. Porch Electric is a recommended source from us here at OCC. You can find a link to their homepage in our "Resources" section under the heading of "Cub Cadet Parts Sources"

To save you the trouble of searching and looking here is a link to their E-Bay webpage and the harness you are looking for......... E-Bay.

What is wrong with your harness? It takes quite a while to replace one. Can it not be repaired?

ronniec 01-15-2014 01:34 AM

a wire came off some where we are not sure but shorted out ignition switch got hot enough to melt the coverings off several wires its a mess so ill replace the harness and the switch and go from there ronnie

Give this guy a try.

Mike Lamar's Wiring Harnesses

rustypete@integrity.com

You'll need the serial numbers for your tractor and the engine and probably the spec number for the engine.

Welcome to OCC

My harness was so butchered, it was impossible to even attempt to buzz it out. I got the wire harness schematic, and worked from there to make my own. I drew up my own schematic . Bypassing ALL the functions that run threw the PTO switch. I know it's all for safety but I don't like that the whole tractor relies on a correctly functioning PTO switch. Besides, I'm a big boy , I am conscious of making sure the 'spinning' parts are off before getting off.

X3 on Mike's wiring harnesses. Top notch work and a good price + he's a member on here.

Hi:

Yes, Mike's harness was great on my 1650. I contacted him and Ii was told by him, that he doesn't do above the 1650. The other place I'm really not pleased with. I bought and paid for a harness on Thursday. I sent message that I was willing to pay extra for overnight and nothing, no response. Sorry for the rant but I need this. Thank you all.
