Blade On The 782
Jenn and I got the blade on the 782. We might get some snow this week. I noticed, that the blade isn't touching the ground in the down position. It sits an inch higher. Last time the blade was on, it touched the ground. The only things that changed, since the blade was on the last time, is the new front tires and rear lift was added. I also noticed, that the Brinly adapter also isn't going all the way down. Wonder what it could be? Thanks guys!

AC check the height setting knob on the right side of the frame as you are sitting on the tractor.
|
It looks good. That being said, now that you put the blade on, it's not going to snow, just how it works. :biggrin2:

Let the air out of the front tires and it'll be on the ground no problem.

Allen,
Here are some things to check: 1. The cam on the frame that was already mentioned. 2. The lift bar to see if it is bent or catching somehow on one of it's pins. 3. Pull the tunnel cover off and check to make sure that the lift cylinder is actuating all the way or if something is obstructing it's extension. If all else fails, and you want it to drop (but float) you could use a steel cable or chain in place of your lift rod or go with an adjustable lift rod. Cub Cadet 123 |
can u post a picture of the lift arm side thanks

Thanks guys! I'll check the height adjustment knob tomorrow.
|
Looks good Allen.
|
AC looks like you may get some of that white stuff you have been wanting.
|
I believe so, Sam. We may get 6". If so, that means seat time. This will be my first time plowing snow. :beerchug:
|
Did you find out why the plow won't go all the way down?

Could be a busted roll pin in the rockshaft.

What ever it is or was I hope he got it fixed because the weather looks like he is going to get some of that white stuff that he has been looking forward to getting. Think I recall saying he could have my share, forecast for Galax VA 0" Allen's area 2-6" Allen hope you enjoy your first time plowing snow. Please post pics. Your Buddy Sam Mac.:biggrin2::beerchug:
Just a couple tips from someone that has BTDT just get a hole punched through it on the first pass, then take a nibble at a time on the next passes. Since you don't have chains on the 782 don't be afraid to ram the snow. Have fun Buddy. If it's wet and heavy you may want to have at it when you get about 3" and then every 3" or so. Or you can wait till it melts the next day in your area. |

Good luck on getting some white stuff!

Thanks guys! The blade is now touching the ground like it should. I took the height adjustment knob off, and that fixed the problem. Now I'm ready for the white stuff! :beerchug:

Allen Nice plow setup! If you want more practice plowing for snow you can plow your leaves :bigthink: or you can haul your rig out this way theres lots of snow to be plowed. :beerchug:
I wondered why you had to take the adjuster knob off for it to touch the ground isn't the lift rod long enough? |
Thanks! I'm not sure why I had to take the knob off. The lift rod is 29", so it's long enough. Next time the 782 is out, I'm going to see if it's lifting the blade higher.

AC

LOL guys! It started to snow around 9:30, after several hours of sleet. Hope we get enough, so I can plow with the 782.

Allen by the time you get the tractor started and get it out of the shack put all your clothes on and stay warm you could shovel it and be done quicker
