Music preferences

This is completely out of the blue but I was wondering what was all of our favorite genre of music and possibly a song. I'll start The Beach Boy's and the song is Fun, Fun, Fun

Cub Cadet 123 02-10-2014 09:02 PM

Depends on my mood, creative mood, Don McLean "Starry, Starry, Night (Vincent)", romantic mood, Henry Mancini, "Theme from Love Story", deep thought, classical (Mozart, Beethoven, Rossini, Chopin, Wagner, etc...), road trip (Blues--Sam & Dave, Eric Clapton, Blues Brothers, B.B. King, Herbie Hancock), ......somewhat of an eclectic genre, I guess.

Interesting never thought of the whole mood thing:bigthink:

gsomersjr 02-10-2014 09:15 PM

Pink Floyd, Simple Minds, and Led Zeppelin for starters.

ACecil 02-10-2014 10:20 PM

I mostly enjoy classic rock.

Shaner 02-10-2014 10:58 PM

Heavy metal, speed metal and power metal for me!

zippy1 02-11-2014 12:40 AM

Hard rock and metal.
Driving tunes by Black Label Society, Judas Priest. Kickin it in the shop, Iron Maiden. Easy listening, relaxing, Def Leppard.
Feeling romantic has to be Ted Nugent Stranglehold.:beerchug: just listen to the guitar licks on that song, if it don't scream romance, nothing does:bigthink:
Oh and that was mentioned, Stevie Nicks. She does have a great voice.

The Electric Light Orchestra is my favorite group, with Blue Oyster Cult running second, but there are so many others, Chuck Berry, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, Budgie, The Hollies, Dr. Hook And The Medicine Show, America, Looking Glass, Canned Heat, Leo Sayer, Aliotta Haynes and Jeremiah, John Fred & His Playboy Band, Steppenwolf, Aerosmith, The Traveling Wilburys, Mott The Hoople, Henry Hemorrhoid and the Preparation H Band, ZZ Top, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ted Nugent, Todd Rundgren, 10 CC, Black Oak Arkansas, Blondie, Thin Lizzy, The Sweet, Queen, Robert Gordon with Link Ray, and YES, I like Fleetwood Mac... Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie have absolutely the sexiest voices in the music industry.

cubby102 02-11-2014 01:17 AM

Im happy with classic rock and most all 90s and down country. Like some of the new stuff but not much

sawdustdad 02-11-2014 08:39 AM

Classic rock for me--ZZTop, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Pink Floyd, Doors, Cream, Hendrix, Foghat, Wishbone Ash.

Berwil 02-11-2014 09:39 AM

I listen to everything. If I'm in the zone in the shop it's Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Garth Brooks, songs I can sing along to (terribly). If I need to blow off steam, it's Rage Against the Machine or Danzig. Otherwise my iPod has everything on it from 50's to now and is always on shuffle. My coworkers laugh when it goes Frank Sinatra to Jay-z to Merle Haggard. I know it's not music, but I'm a big Car Talk fan, they play old episodes everyday on XM. Their not lying you can waste a perfectly good hr in no time.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s so any classic rock is good. Real country such as Jonny Cash, Willie Nelson. Blues is my all time favorite. Nobody does it better than BB King.

IHinIN 02-11-2014 12:16 PM

I listen to a little bit of everything. Classic rock, some country (not the newer pop country), hard rock, blues.

Classic rock ( '60's & '70's )

Country, but not the heavy twangy stuff.

drglinski 02-11-2014 07:07 PM

Country music 1990s+, contemporary alternative music (er, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, etc is the best way I can think to put it) classic bluegrass (osborne brothers, scruggs) classic rock (like Queen, CCR, etc.)

Basically anything that can get me going that isn't heavy metal, R&B, rap, isn't slow and doesn't involve heavy cursing. PS jazz puts me to sleep.

Redblower 02-11-2014 08:27 PM

I was getting worried till some of the last posts, yes Blue Grass is hard to beat! But one classic rock band I haven't seen mentioned is Little Feat, one of my personal favorites, along with so much other great music out there, too many to list...
