Red Power Showdown, Bloomsburg PA -on June 12-14 2014.

I don't know how many have heard about the IH show in Bloomsburg PA coming up on June 12-14 2014.

It is being put on by IHCC chapter 17, and if the previous Red Power Roundups held here are any indication it should be a good show. With the Roundup out in South Dakota this year, this show gives the east coast folk something to look forward to.

Here is a link to the show website:

cubcadet 03-13-2014 06:01 PM

We will be there!:beerchug:

gsomersjr 03-13-2014 07:52 PM

It's on my list of places to be. Maybe we should plan to meet up for lunch or something and meet everyone in person.

hdsdcouple 03-13-2014 08:19 PM

lol well just sat thru a 4 1/2 hour long meeting today for the red power round up in south Dakota this year and the topic of this show was brought up.

darkminion_17 03-14-2014 06:49 PM

It is only an hour and 45 minute to there from here.If I go,between Me Mike and Mike and anyone else Nick will have a sensory overload,he will run out of questions to ask,I hope he writes down all the one he will ask us and anyone else.
Maybe I will bring some boxes with me...

EricR 03-14-2014 09:33 PM

I am supposed to go to a co-workers wedding on that day BUT I also work with a HUGE IH fan, really he's 6' 8'' tall and said we WILL make this show weather Doug gets married or not so we will see as time gets closer. I'm less than an hour away so this may happen.

I've never been to an event like this. Do you bring tractors to display? Is there a swap meet of some sort? Buy/sell/trade? Is there a fee? Just wondering what the deal is...If you stay in a local hotel, where to do you put your tractors and stuff at night? The logistics seem daunting without an enclosed car carrier.

You put your tractors on display and park your trailer at local motel or on fair grounds, it is like a Swap meet. Buy,sell, trade. Are you going ?

Do have to be a member of International Harvester Collectors to display?

Cost to be a member?

I'm not sure but I'd say yes about displaying.

sawdustdad 03-20-2014 07:42 AM

Would be nice if there were a FAQ on participating in an event like this, for us greenhorns.

What do you do at night--just leave your tractors at the fairgrounds? Or is it only one day? I'd have to stay over the night before and the night after as it's a 5 hour drive for me.

Rocking416 03-20-2014 01:30 PM

I would sure like to go and display a few of my cub cadets maybe even my super A. Never been to a all IH show

It's a 3 day show.

Do you leave your tractors at the fairgrounds when you go back to the hotel at night? Can you explain how it works? I need some guidance. (I'm a planner, so I can't just show up).

You leave your tractors and trailer on the fair grounds and drive your truck to the motel.

sawdustdad 03-20-2014 06:57 PM

Thanks for the info.

Do you need to be a member question was answered.

I will ask this question again........

go here http://nationalihcollectors.com/index.html

I think that will provide the answer. My local (VA) chapter is $30/yr. I'm not a member, but that's what I found.

Merk 03-21-2014 08:18 PM

I sent an email to the President of the host chapter of Red Power Show Down.
They have additional insurance to cover non-members that are not part of International Harvester Collectors. It will not cost a non-member anything. All sponsored events like Red Power Round Ups requires anyone with a display to be a member of International Harvester Collectors nation group. The cost to belong to national group is $15.

Sugarmaker 05-11-2014 09:52 PM

This is probably going to be a nice show if the weather is good.
For me this is about 4.5 hour drive. Could come down and stay over one night maybe. Need to find a trailer to haul all my IH stuff. Starting to think about this! All OCC folks getting together for a meal, would be nice, maybe breakfast?
Regards,
Chris

EricR 05-11-2014 10:04 PM

Chris I would be up to do breakfast before the show!

I'm going to set up a full display for The Little Tractor Co in PA... www.TheLittleTractorCo.com

The 2 wheel drive 1206 and the 826 will be on display.

Look for the tent and signage in the second photo. The 4x4 and puller will not be there though... Those are long gone. :)

Kurt

cubcadet 05-30-2014 06:26 AM

This show isn't too far away anymore, about 2 weeks.:beerchug:

olds45512 06-03-2014 11:06 AM

Im a little bummed that I wont be able to make it. My wife is over 8 months pregnant and she would prefer I stick close to home, but soon I will have 2 boys fighting over who gets to ride on the cub with dad first so its ok.

Sugarmaker 06-03-2014 12:31 PM

Folks,
I agree with Cub Cadet!
Ok I really have to think about this. Have the old 147R and some tow behind implements. But when I see Kurt's tractors, maybe I should stay home :), man do they look nice! Trailer is the issue for me right now. I don't have one. My son has a old one but not sure its ready for that trip.
Regards,
Chris
