Met a fellow member today!
2 Attachment(s)
My friend Chris (the one with the 126 and the 169) and I took a short road trip today to meet up with member 782CC (Tim) and pick up a couple tractors from him. Always cool to meet fellow members. I had expressed interest in dual stick quietline tractors in a post I made last fall, Tim had a dual stick 1250 he wanted to sell. Distance kept the deal from going through. Recently, he contacted me and said he would be going through Illinois on a trip and could bring the tractor along. I thought that was a great deal! Before it was all said and done, he (somewhat easily I might add) talked me into a very nice 682 that he also was done using.
So, I am now a proud owner of a seemingly rare 1250 dual stick, and a nice, red, IH built 682! (All the parts came with the 1250, just not assembled.) Here is a shot of them once we got them unloaded at home. (I'll post better pics later, we were in a hurry.) Attachment 48501Attachment 48502 Sorry, no pics of Tim and I. Tim: After all the pm's, e-mails and texts, it was great to finally shake your hand! I appreciate the effort you put into bringing the tractors this far. I wish you safe travels on the rest of your trip, and enjoy your time with your brother. Thanks again! :beerchug: |
Nice score. Good looking tractors!!:beerchug::IH Trusted Hand:

Thanks guys! These bring my total tractors to 8 (including the Lo-Boy). I'm done for a while. (Unless I find one cheap :biggrin2::biggrin2:) Ryan the plan is, 682 for a grass killer, 1250DS for front hydraulic blade in winter, and just all around tractor. The 682 has sleeve hitch, and the 1250 will... so they are very good all-round use tractors! |
Congrats on the pickups Jonathan!:beerchug:
The dual stick are nice! |

And something told me that 1250DS would be a blade tractor in the winter :biggrin2: If only there was a viable way to put a blower and a blade on it with a cab, talk about a snow moving machine :biggrin2: |

There is a viable way.... a triple stick off a "green" tractor. I already have the cab... :biggrin2::biggrin2: But it will probably stay on the 18'. Need that HP for the blower! |
Nice score and nice to meet a forum member...
|
Good score (s) now you have more work to do. How far off I70 are you. I go to Kansas in Apr and Sept. I have my truck for the Sep Trip. My son EricR and were discussing the possibility of getting an "O" engine done. Besides I might could haul something out or back in the Sep trip if it is not too far out of the way.

Congrats there on your "new" tractors:beerchug: |
Thanks Mike! How many 1250 dual sticks have you ever seen? 14's and 16's I find all the time..... 1250... I've only "seen" this one. There is another member here with one, but I don't remember who. :bigthink:
Jonathan, I have only ever seen a couple 1250 dual sticks. Like you said the 14 and 16 are more common. I have a 14 and 16 dual stick but do not have the 1250. I have complete dual hydraulic setups though so a 1250 will get it one of these days so I have the trio setup.:biggrin2: |
Nice finds Jonathan. Not as nice as mine but they will do.:biggrin2::beerchug:

It was great to meet some fellow members. Really glad you like the new additions Jonathan. I will pay a pic of the 1250 assembled. It looked much nicer than the bucket of parts I just gave you. On the 682 I am sure it is a high hour machine. Rebuilding the front and some good lubrication made a big difference. You are the 4th owner of both. 3rd given I used then little. Ironically both can new with tillers btw.

Jonathan, Glad you got the 1250 DS and the 682 is a great bonus. Up to 8 tractors and counting. There ain't no way you can stop at just 8!
If Paul comes through from Pa you can have him meet you at my place. As you know I live right on I70, my place is about a mile and a half from the Interstate. |
Nice tractors!

Thanks Tim and gsomersjr! I figured we could meet at your place. That's why I said I would make the drive if they didn't want to veer that far off course! (But I didn't mention you name cause I wanted to ask first!) |
Congrats Jonathan, and it's nice to meet other members!
|
Thanks Allen! And yes, it's always good to meet members. So far, Tim is only the second one I've met! Most guys are pretty far away from me.
