Are the 2182's hard to find?
How hard is it to find a nice 2182 and what is a fair price to pay for one with 500 to 800 hours on it? There are 2 on ebay for $3,500 and one on craigslist locally for the same although this seems high? I have not heard of any sold lately to get an idea on value.

$3500 is high for one unless it's had all the need to do stuff done to it. For $3500.00 you can have my 2182.

There is a well used one at an upcoming auction.....With a 3pt on it, along with an 1872 with a Haban and 3pt....

They're out there, my brother purchased one in PA for $2500 with nothing but a 54" deck. Too much, but what do I know. I purchased this POS 3 or 4 years ago with 4 flat tires that are shot and need replaced, front pto had tosted bearings, every piece of plastic is broken, crappy cyclops powder coating is flaking off, wiring is a complete mess (one of the worst I have seen) didn't run, dealer used about 2 tubes of RTV to seal the axle tubes and hydro together but it did come with the plastic tool box screwed down to the fender with 4 screws.:ScrewLoose: What the heck was I thinking? Freeking Craigs List:BangPC:, gets me every time. Someday it will be as purdy as Mr. Sam's. Good luck!:beerchug:

I bought this late serial number one off of craigslist east of Cedar Rapids last spring for $1,300 but haven't seen any other deals that good on any Supers. This was a 2 owner with all the original paperwork, 60" Haban and 433 hours.

There is a nice 2182 with a blower and weights for under 1000 on the omaha ne craigs list
|
i actually bought one the other day for $600 and sold it 10 minutes later at a gas station for $1000 :biggrin2::biggrin2:

Not a 2182 but still a good deal. Would've been in the shed if I was lookin' and it had a smoker under the hood..............:biggrin2:
Couple hundred bucks worth of rear weights on her. http://quadcities.craigslist.org/grd/4405477318.html |

Thanks all!
I now have a somewhat better idea what one should be worth. I'm thinking $1,000 to $1,500 depending on condition and options is a great deal. I found an unlisted one for $1,800.00 if I don't mind the drive. I just have not convinced myself of the price yet. My dilemma holding me back is everyone likes to speak of the one that got away or the one they stole at a great price, but what is the tractor worth at a fair price? I know many (myself included) hate to bring up what they paid after hearing of others getting a great deal on one. |

No comparison between the two. Get that super. One heck of a deal. It's only prolly 15 minutes from me. I would love to have it, but the house addition really put a damper on cub funds. :bash2: I'd seriously call him back and buy it! If it's not gone already...... Under edit: Put a three point on the back and rear pto. I've got a tiller for it you could borrow. |

I really shouldn't right now; just got hit with taxes (which of course I somehow owe in), vacation coming up, but the biggest thing is I don't know how quick I could turn my 1450 and those 3 sets of weights on that Super (because I've already got weights, I would definitely sell the 3 sets on it). If I had a buyer for everything I'd be there in heartbeat. Edit: Wanna buy a 1450/tiller combo? :biggrin2::beer2: |

Actually this person is making the rounds from city to city on Craig's list. Two weeks ago it was out of Oklahoma City. Check out the email I received. Hi, Thanks for being interested in buying my 2182 Super Cub Cadet with snow blower . Check the attachment to see more pictures. What you see is what you get. I will start my email by telling you that I'm currently out of country so pick up isn't an option. The Cub Cadet is as described, in perfect condition and will be delivered at your home address. Total price will be $950.00 and the transaction will be made only through eBay because i am not in the country anymore and this way it's safer for both . Right now I'm in United Kingdom, just arrived here 3 days ago. Before I left I found a buyer and I had everything arranged. I paid for the shipping and almost sent it to him. But yesterday the buyer that I had asked me to wait another 4 weeks because he suddenly had other priorities and he is out of money for the moment. I can't wait this long as I'm in United Kingdom for 3 days now and i really need the money, I am in the moving process, changing the work place and everything. A major issue is that if you want to buy my Cub Cadet you really need to have the money ready for it. If you are interested reply me for further instructions on how will you be able to get possession of the Cub Cadet . I am waiting for your answer. Warmest regards, |

Gotta love Uncle Sam and taxes. Shoot, offer $1200. Sell the $300 worth of weights and you're under a grand. Boy, sure is tempting. Kinda in the same boat, bad timing for me as well. Atleast with the new house, it should help with taxes for you..:beerchug: As far as those scams, the scammers really must think we are all born in a barn. Someday they will get whats coming. |

I like to play around with those guys. I usually ask bunch of questions like I'm really interested, like, have the spark plugs been changed? what oil have you used in the tractor? and a bunch of other dumb questions. Then, after I string them along, I tell them to put the tractor....oops this is a family site. I had one guy call me every bad name that I can think of aftar I told him what I was doing. Now that was funny.:biggrin2:

Holy cow guys. What happens when its the good reverend selling his older Cub?? Lol you really hafta trust your instinct On who is who!

Well when you see a 2182 in Hawaii with a snow blower for a LOW price and you have seen the same add in Atlanta the alarms should be going off. Any time it's one of those send me the $$$$ and I will ship it to you deals it's probably a scam. Gotta wonder how many people have gotten burned with these deals.
|
Ahh. Makes sense. Guess I don't venture too far on CL to notice that.
|
I remember flagging that one in Atlanta about ten times. I figured the snowblower alone was worth what he was asking for the entire package. Now there is a new scam supposedly from your credit card company that already has your number but not your security code. They tell you that your card has been charged and that they are checking on it to see if you made the charge. In the process, after they give you the 800 number on the back of your card to call, they then ask you for the three or four digits that make up your security code. THEN they go right out and charge big time. Remember the company that issues you that card ALREADY knows all of the digits and will NEVER ask you any of them. Be careful because all of the victims say that they are very convincing.:beerchug:

Well this thread has gone off topic. Think we need to start a Scammer post in the general section if we want to continue. :bigthink:
