OK, here's my new to me 126 you convinced me to buy..

Here is it as it sat close to the back road behind the corner of a house. As I drove by my eyes caught the flash of Cub Yellow.. I turned around to check it out. I liked it enough to leave a message on their door about it. Gave them my name and number. He called me and the rest is history. You guys said I should not pass it up even though I already have 14. This one was made in Jan. 1972 $150.

I went there this morning expecting a rough Cub not running.. Heck, he puts a battery in it and it fires right up! I don't know what he was talking about compression release problems over the phone. With it running it sure made loading a lot easier. The shifter has the usual broken lever where it will spin but that is no problem. A temp. fuel tank is installed. Don't know what happened to the original. Has the mule drive but no deck. I have plenty of decks. I am glad the mule drive is there... And what kind of wheel weights are these? Nice blade also. Looks like a new coil and condenser.

I hope my health problems improve like the doctors say it will, then I can look forward to just cleaning it up and doing what it takes to get running sweet. Not going to do much more than that.

Very nice 126, John! The wheel weights look like Bolens weights.

Hope you were wearing a mask while you robbed that guy:biggrin2: I want the seat if you sell it, it looks comfy. Seriously that's a sweet ride for 150 congrats.

Lanceskene 06-04-2014 02:07 PM

Good score.... I hang around a few Bolens forums but havent seen those weights, and they are not anything like mine which are oem cast on my '57 Ride a Matic.

DoubleO7 06-04-2014 02:11 PM

I count 16 in you signature. Did you get rid of one and forget to delete it? Or am I worse at math than I thought? :bigthink:

finsruskw 06-04-2014 02:36 PM

You....Sir.....should be under arrest!!!LOL!!!

I made 400 mile round trip last month for one that was no where near that condition and paid more for it!!! sigh!!!

Way to go!!

drglinski 06-04-2014 03:07 PM

Looks good and straight...thankfully the fuel tank can be hidden until you can obtain a correct one. It also looks like it has a newer muffler.

14 Cubs? Its like a gun safe getting too full, you dont sell them off, you get a bigger safe! So next you'll have to get that huge concrete floored, air conditioned shop we all want, to put them in. Nice find! I dont think many would have passed that up, even if it didnt run or have the plow. Congrats, TB

Sam Mac 06-04-2014 06:38 PM

Congrats on a killer deal Bud. Way to go! :beerchug:

Darn, I'm gonna have to do another recount.. First I thought I had 15, the counted 16, and now I will have to recount again..

I would be glad to pass on some of my Cubs to people like here on the forum.. I think I am getting too many.. But watch, tomorrow another poor Cub will ask for saving... :beerchug:

Cubcrazy 06-04-2014 07:16 PM

John, I have an Uncle that lives in Shawneeland, so I am up that way quite often. PM me if you want to thin the herd a little. :beerchug:

Yosemite Sam 06-06-2014 01:34 AM

WOW! $150.00 what A DEAL, there's probably almost $150.00 worth of duct tape on the seat alone!

Just funnin ya... That really does look like a great deal though.

So used to telling the better half that you have fewer than you actually do, you are loosing count. Nice score on the 126! :beerchug:
