Ok, well I'll play. :beerchug:
I only have one..... and it doesn't run. ........YET. :biggrin2: Model 71. I bought it for parts, but am considering getting it running just to say it runs. Wanted the "options" for my granddads 71 that I now have that he bought new. This one is a little rough. It still looks just like this, only I put the correct rear tires/rims on it, then shoved it into the storage shed. No battery when I got it, but it had been running. It was at the local mower grave yard. Guy used it for putt'n around the yard but parked if because, as he said, it was "someone else's turn to get rode around". Attachment 54138Attachment 54139 |
I'm going to need another week or two.

I guess an "O" qualifies this is my 7HP :biggrin2:
|
Sure it does!! Anything from the O to the 73... I love all the 7hp pan seat tractors. Just came inside from watching my kids ride my 73 again. My daughter likes all my tractors but this is the first one she begs me to drive!!! So we are gonna share it.

What about tractors that were originally 7hp, but got a replacement 8hp engine along the way? I don't want to taint the thread with too much hp, but here is my O. :biggrin2:

Not the pretty-ish picture I have of my cub. But this is my beloved Cub Original.
One day I'll give it a paint job, but for now it looks good. I'm amazed at what the 7hp will do! |
i have a few

Here's my 72....
|
Nice pics guys....I've always liked the O, 72 and 73. I've envisioned the best look for an O is AGs, fenders and tri rib front tires.
|
What I find most interesting about this thread is that we are talking about "7HP" unlike the "20-30" so called HP stuff from today that blow up at 50 hours. Something to be said for old school. Keep em coming guys. :beerchug:
|
What he ^^^ said!!! Keep them coming. These pictures are awesome!!

finally got around to it, here's a few of my 72 with a k301 repower.
http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/...psaebeeddc.jpg me on the same 72 when I was 1 1/2 years old, with my dad http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/...psd9fc6db3.jpg http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/...ps94bf1bec.jpg me with my daughter at 1 month old on the same 72 http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/...psa96ff66b.jpg http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6d3abf22.jpg she's 1 1/2 now, but I don't have any pictures with her on the tractor, she prefers riding in her wagon behind. |
cadzag, that's cool! I have another 71 that I didn't post pictures of. It's an heirloom too. It was my granddads. He bought it new in..... 68? (I don't remember if the year is right.) My dad was just a kid. When I put a motor back in it, it will be engine number 4. It got "well used" on our farm. :biggrin2:
Under edit: First motor (obviously) 7hp. Second motor 8HP. Third motor 10HP. Now..... should I continue the tradition and go 12? Or go back original? I'm leaning toward either putting the 10 back in, or going 12. I'm more of an HP guy (bigger/more HP= better)..... I'm leaning toward a 12. |
Thanks! My dad was working for an IH dealer as a repair guy before I was born, someone brought it in as a trade with a motor that, as he put it, was to worn out to rebuild. He cobbled together a k301 out of parts laying around, including a bent crankshaft at the PTO end. It's had an exciting life, including a rollover that broke the cast grille and going up in flames when the tank solder failed and a full tank of fuel poured on top of the hot engine. Melted the head it was so hot! Both of these events happened before I was born, or before I was able to remember it anyways. I try to take good care of to repay it for all it's hard work. Hoping to restore it with my daughter when she gets a little older.

Well, I don't know how you follow Cadzag72's pictures, which are way too cool!
I am also a big fan of the 7hp's, guess being a narrow frame and I love the round fenders! Here are my 70, 71, 72 & 73’s. All have fenders, some have lights, I have weights, lifts and spring assists for all to install at some point. I am still working out a few mechanical things before I paint them. I have some of those 7 hp Originals as well, here are a couple of the 6 I have (three are in pieces!) and all are “a work in progress”! Five are 4-digit (one January) and also have fenders, weights, lifts & assists for at least four of them. To go along with them is an assortment of “accessories”; timed mower deck, non trip blade, weight box and a few other odd and ends. |
Very nice lineup.:beer2:

Here is my daughter's tractor that we just picked up last weekend.
