The wife and I went and got ourselves a new addition to the family today.
He's just shy of eight weeks old.
Chocolate lab. We named him Colt Forty Five, seeing we have a Ruger, the name would fit right in.

Aww such a cute lil guy! The fiance has been pestering to get another dog, this won't help the case :biggrin2: :beerchug:

Dogs are cool. He's a cute one. I've noticed you're a night owl zippy. Busy body during the day?

olds45512 07-24-2014 11:16 PM

I have a black lab and a chocolate lab, labs are my favorite. Congrats

cadzag72 07-24-2014 11:28 PM

My own dog is a mutt, but I'm a huge fan of chocolate labs, had a number of them growing up. Congrats!

Pretty much. Up at 4:30- 6:30 am each day, because I'm hurting and go to sleep around 1:00 am. I've got a lot of pain again by the evening and when I go to bed around 10:00 pm, it takes me forever to get the meds to kick in to sleep, or pass out, which ever way you want to look at it.
Four hours is about max for sleep, then I need to get up, and start all over again.
Wife hates it. Every time she rolls over the puter is still on and I'm still awake. Been this way for the last three to four years. It's life, roll with it I guess.:bigthink:

I hear that. Life is what you make it. Either feel sorry for yourself or make the best of your situation. At least you have the right attitude.

Nice dog Zip! I like labs. Been thinking about gettin a dog again, but if I do it's gotta be a truck dog. I'm not ever home, so it'll have to come to the shop with me. Congrats! :beerchug:

Congrats on your new buddy, Todd!

Thought I'd post a week update on Colt 45. Little fart ig growing like a weed, he' a little pistol. (ha, ha)
Retrieving antlers eight out of ten times, comes when asked to, most of the time
Just has this thing about peeing on the floor, take him to his peeing spot, bring him in the house, and he's peeing AGAIN! I think he's going to be a slow learner in the house breaking department. The other two, Gunner and Ruger were kennel trained in 3 and four days, not this one.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Sounds like my wife's dog, her name is Piddles.

red56turbo 08-02-2014 12:11 PM

Todd,
He's just excited to see ya! :biggrin2: Worse part of a puppy is the house training part. Those are some big paws. Gonna be a brute!

Thanks Jonathan. He makes the third lab in a row, first chocolate and should be the last.
By the time he's seven when I normally bring in another dog, I'm going to be to worn out to be training another dog. But I think I said that about four weeks ago:biggrin2:
