Cub Cadet 123 09-08-2014 07:31 PM

Wow. Somebody really liked using their cub for year round duties and took really good care of their equipment or else someone was prepared for year round duties but didn't use their equipment very much---either way, you scored very nicely!!! Glad that you landed a great package deal.:beerchug:

Lew,
Nice find on the mother lode. Always good to find them in nice, original condition and from an owner who actually takes care of his/her stuff. When I first saw that nice #1, I figured Nick would be blowing up your PM box. When's he coming to pick it up? :biggrin2: :beerchug:

Next weekend.:beerchug:

Ya know, on any other site, or without that preface, that wouldn't have sounded right :biggrin2:

Awesome score on the package deal, you can't beat that. Just about every tool you'd need for yearly yard/garden work :beerchug:

Stratmoore Farms 09-09-2014 03:53 PM

Color me jealous. Great find indeed!!!

darkminion_17 09-09-2014 03:56 PM

Only thing missing was a brinly plow.
Nick has no deposit on it, so Josh if you need one........Hehehehehehe

Josh doesn't need one, he's too far away, I am coming next weekend probably, and it's coming home with me.:biggrin2:

Cubcrazy 09-09-2014 05:16 PM

Update :
I knew this motor needed a head gasket when I bought it but I didn't know it was this bad. The bore has no scratches in it and the piston edge is not eaten away. It wasn't smoking when I had it running so hopefully a head and fin cleaning is all it will need.
Nice lp head.I may leave it on there...
Tomorrow's project

cubcadet 09-09-2014 07:43 PM

Good work lew, that should hopefully take care of it.

Thanks for the offer Lew. I've already got the #1 Dad bought new so I'm set. If Nick wants it that bad, it sure is lookin' like a nice $500 #1 cart to me.......................:bigthink: :biggrin2:

darkminion_17 09-10-2014 01:30 PM

Good idea Josh,I think to right cart collector it is worth 450.00

darkminion_17 09-10-2014 08:01 PM

So I put it all back together, it has a .010 piston in it so it has been taken apart before, and we have a knock at idle ,mid throttle knock.
No smoke though, needs clutch work, teaser spring, one axle seal leaks. The mower deck is quiet and cuts well.
Has a newer style steering column.
Good thing I have a spare 10hp.
I would like to get it running with the newer motor, put the cab on and use it for dedicated snow removal.
