Anybody can Custom fit your own belt. This could be an option for us.

Check out this link. I have no ties to this product, I also have never used it. Looks like a great option for DIYers that don't want to mess with removal of extra things to replace a belt.
Looking for comments.

Those are junk. Only work for light duty loads. Factories seem to like them, but they don't do well under heavy loads.

I'm glad somebody has heard of these. I was hoping for feed back good or bad. It looks like a good idea, but if it is junk don't buy one. It is not an option in my case cause I have other work to do regardless.
Thanks for the comment.

They are OK for light duty loads and temporary use like when you bust a belt and don't have the correct belt in stock.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I haven't seen them before and thought if I posted about them here I could get some responses on their usefulness or lack there of.

So is the S/G belt considered light duty?

You may be able to get away with one on the SG but if it was my tractor I'd use the proper belt.

Cool, makes sense.

I have one on my old Craftsman table saw.
It does transmit more torque than the standard v-belt.
Running 1hp anyways.

They might work okay in other straight line apps like on the S/G just fine.
But not for say the deck drive belt on a CC with the 90 degree twist, etc.

it might just be me but i can tell from looking at the pic that i wouldn't trust it on a mower.

They have had those type of belts in the HVAC field for years. I NEVER leave them on in an application on a permanent basis. IMHO, they are only good for temporary use at best.

Hello, i saw them used on a hit&miss JD hooked up to a couple ice cream makers. Looked really good they were yellow. Mike

I have one on my metal lathe--from the motor to the headstock. But it's only 1/2 HP. I've seen them advertised a lot for woodworking tools, but I wouldn't use them for anything over 1HP.

All you guys saying that aren't for heavy duty work loads, apparently you aren't reading the site. It clearly states "NuTLink and SuperTLink are heavy duty workhorses. These belts are perfectly suited for those big shock loaded applications with multi-belt drives." :biggrin2:

These belts make me wonder, with their "complex shape and design", wouldn't they get less surface contact and therefore less power transfer? :bigthink:

Perhaps they're going with ice/snow tire logic; more "biting" edges means more grip. :biggrin2:

Mick, it's funny, the only time I remember seeing one was as a fan belt on a Waterloo boy tractor (it was red). Guess the JD guys don't have the too much power issue to worry about. :beerchug:
