How not to rebuild a Kohler
My guess is Don, Merk and Jon would not approve of these rebuild techniques
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cho7bg8s8Aw |
I have no words for that
|
I don't have the wherewithal to watch any more of his videos. :bash2::bash2::bash2:
At 20 seconds he calls it a crescent wrench....:ExtremeFunny: Maybe he didn't know he was looking at the exhaust valve through the plug hole and not the piston. :bigthink: |
Did you not watch how he disassembled the engine? :biggrin2:

reminds me of a guy that broke a carrier in a gear drive. used a torch to cut the old carrier out then calls me up asking how he is supposed to get the new one in.
|
Just went back and read your post, you got a few others to also post. Too funny.
|
I watch some of his other so called rebuilds. Best way to put is How not to rebuild a Kohler. Hopefully no one follows the way he is doing something.

UN-FREAKIN" BELEIAVABLE!!!!
Geeesh!! I wish he would stand still!! And he's even got to make Truckers look bad in the process! Did you notice where he was at? I'll bet he works at a truck stop even! |

What the hell was that??? Jezzzzz why did he bust the block to hell??
|
WOW!!!! What a moron! Could only watch 10 seconds.:beer2:
|
Ya'll don't be hatin', he had to have stints. Check out his health update vid.
|
Wow, why is he smashing the block?
|
It will probably wind up in the weds along side a road somewhere.
|
I was wondering what he was thinking when he said the piston wasn't moving until and down and he was looking in the spark plug hole! That engine could probably been saved don't know how bad the pitting was in the cylinder walls. Soak it in a 50/50 mix of atf and acetone , a last resort would be remove the piston in pieces. Not break the block apart! It all still amazes me. Im not hating on him stints or no stints!

He is a scraper. One video shows how he uses a skil saw to cut up helo blades for the scrap yard. Probably why he had no qualms about smashing the cylinder block with a hammer. It is all just metal to be scrapped if it is too much effort to save. |
What a slob.
|
It looks more like a Demolition Derby rather than a Cub Cadet Restoration! I bet he has a specialized hammer for each type of work he needs to do.

That is what you call a "Hammer Mechanic"!

:Morning: That Guy is a complete moron. I could only handle about 20 seconds of that. I happen to know a Guy that thinks a 20 lb sledge is his best friend, when some thing goes wrong with a piece of his equipment. Maybe pair them up and they could be the dynamic hammer duo. :American Flag 1:

He said he work 40+ years in auto mechanics? Where? In south America? Have you ever seen a 4X4 with a broken tie rod repair with a rope? They most have learn that trick from him.
This guy need to wear a hazardous sticker on the forehead!:ScrewLoose: |

I started watching that video and from the comments I knew it would make me cringe. Sure enough the cringing started when I saw the pipe wrench go on the crank. When he started beating the block apart with a hammer I had to turn it off.
It's his engine and he can do what he wants with it but I hate to see a decent piece of equipment destroyed by an idiot. Last time I checked they aren't making K series Kohler engines anymore and it is a shame to see one needlessly destroyed. I have two QL tractors - a 1000 and a 1450. I treat them with respect and I see myself almost as a caretaker of them. My two boys (6 and 4) are already deciding who gets which one when they are old enough to use them. The reality is they will get them when I am gone. This oaf sees no value in these machines and should come no where near them. That engine could have been saved. All it needed was an owner with skills and common sense. What a shame. |
It is not his fault his family tree has no branches. :biggrin2:
|
why the heck didn't he just soak the cylinder in penetrating oil
|
I really don't give a hoot, I've watched his other videos and he seems pretty ingenuitive. He makes some of his own parts. By the way the tractor is alive and restored with a repower.

Follow that guy if you want. He's a moron. Doesn't take a lot of brain power to figure out how to bash a motor with a hammer to disassemble it. :bash2::bash2: |
