I consider this to be a great buy. Only two hours from me, can't justify the 4 gs tho.

Coolest package I've seen

He was talking to my dad last night and said it's sold. Did anyone on here get it?

great tractor,4 grand could buy alot of tractors though......

I moved this into the General Talk area since it's turning into a conversation. It still shows as being for sale on C-List but maybe the poster hasn't removed it if it has in fact been sold. :bigthink:

gdheck 01-10-2015 10:19 AM

Rescue11,
Yes, I do. He let take all the measurements from the power angle cylinder this past summer, so I can build one of my own. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it, or it would have never made it to C-list.

J-Mech 01-10-2015 10:30 AM

That's probably because 4k is way more than it's worth. Way more!!

I can buy a 656 IH, wide front, 3pt, good tires..... 60-65 up for $3500. That's 4x's the tractor for less $.

gdheck 01-10-2015 10:45 AM

This was one of those cases where some nut of a dealer told him it is worth $$$ and he believed the dealer. When I looked at it in July he was hoping to get $8-9000 out of it, because a dealer told him that's what it would cost on their lot.:bash2:

J-Mech 01-10-2015 10:51 AM

You just said you wanted to buy it for $4k! Your as nuts as he is! I took one look with no second thoughts. Overpriced is all I see.

olds45512 01-10-2015 11:01 AM

It must be worth 4k since it has the ultra rare "kuboda" engine in it.:biggrin2:

gdheck 01-10-2015 11:07 AM

That's not really how I meant that. I couldn't get him to come down on the price and wouldn't give $4000 for it any day. It also had some issues that would have needed fixed too. For the package deal and considering what supers sell for around here, I think $2000 would have been a lot closer.

Oak 01-10-2015 11:15 AM

Here is what I see. It is over priced but.....Sell the tiller for $600 to $750, pull the rear lift and pto and sell it for $1000, sell the Haban blade for $400. That's still about $2k for the tractor which I think is on the high end but if someone wanted it bad enough it would be doable but I wouldn't take the risk.:biggrin2:

gdheck 01-10-2015 11:45 AM

No way this 1772 is worth $2000. Not even on a good day.

I will admit that something along those lines crossed my mind though. I thought about keeping the pto, 3 point, tiller and power angle blade for my 2072 and selling the rest along with my manual angle blade. The price still would have needed to be significantly lower. Most supers I've seen sold around here, diesels included, have topped out at about $1300.

Well then there..... providing the seller hasn't sold the tractor, he can sell it to the dealer. With the dealer saying value 8-9 thousand, the seller could hope to get 4 G's. There the dealer can double his money. :bigthink:

There you go, this sounds like a win, win situation for everyone involved.

Except the poor sap that buys this set-up from the dealer.

Kinda reminds me of this fella... Sounds like the dealer gave him the screwing of his life, so he's trying to pass it on to someone who's just as stupid as he is.

Tractor alone probably isn't worth $2000 unless it's in very good working condition.

now here is the deal of the day, im pretty sure this guy has a drug problem hes trying to fund because he must be on something.:biggrin2:

I bought my 1772 from a dealer and it came with a 50" deck, three point, and rear PTO. Got if for a quarter of the asking price of this 1772. The dealer just happened to sell green, moldy stuff and didn't know what they had, until I bought it and they had another 10-15 calls after I had procured the deal. I did have to pay sales tax though. :bash2: :biggrin2:

Hate to say it, but $2000 is prolly to going rate for a nice 1772 with TPH, rear PTO, and a mower. I agree with Todd, that $2000 is on the higher end though. Not saying they can't be found cheaper, but go price a comparable compact tractor of any make with all of these attachments and the price is prolly north of $10000. All depends on what someone is looking to buy and if they have the funds to buy it. I think the dealer that told him that astronomical price is smoking something good.

That being said, would I spring for this set, no. I'd sure like to have the hitch, rear PTO, and the tiller though. :biggrin2:

Rescue11 01-11-2015 02:13 AM

Geewizz! I thought it was a decent price... guess not?? Figured if a guy hadta buy it individually, it would be more than that.

Guess that's what I get for thinking!!

I realize that you can buy a bigger farmall for what the price is, but if its too big for what your doing, or what you wanting to do with it, what's the sense of it?

Besides, if I were to spend money on a bigger tractor with a 3pt pto hydraulics etc... it would have a cab and say Case IH Magnum on the side :-P

Edit: Magnum would be on the front, Case IH would be on the side
