My First Implement, and a Question

I picked up my first implement from the local Craigslist today, a Brinly plow for $50. My question, I'll be in the market for a hitch adapter before spring. Any suggestions as to where to purchase? Thanks.

What model tractor is it going on? Jeff makes a nice hitch.

Also Xtreme makes some nice stuff.

It'll be going on a 1250.

Awesome, and a sponsor as well. When I have the extra cash you'll be getting an order from me.

The front blade shoes look very heavy duty too. I just ordered a set.

Shrewcub 01-08-2015 02:06 PM

I have one from Yosemite Sam and Jeff in Pa. They are both excellent adapters!!! It really comes down to personal preference, I think. I've had Sam's since Christmas and have used it couple times pulling blades. I just unpacked Jeff's this morning. I can say that you will break everything else before you break either one of these adapters.

Sam's came primed with a light coat of black paint plus all of the clevis and hitch pins needed.

Jeff's is unpainted with no hardware. Jeff's lift straps(not pictured) are twice as thick as Sam's.

I can't recommend one over the other yet (And probably won't be able to until more testing is done). I want to get one of these from Xtereme to avoid pulling the bolts out of the rear.

I would definitely get either one of these before getting a stock one.
In closing I'd say get both!:biggrin2: :beerchug:

EDIT: I forgot to mention both guys are valuable assets to this forum in their Cub knowledge and high quality products!!!

Dang, wish I had known about those before buying a stock one. Might have to pick up one anyway.

Sell the one you bought and get one of those just like in the picture. I have one on my 121 and had one on a 1572.

Nice plow, all shined up or has it been painted/greased?
Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

BrandonC 01-08-2015 03:38 PM

It's been painted. It has a little rust pitting on it but not too bad.

Am I the only one who cannot access Sam's website? I have 3 computers and know I have tried on at least 2 of them if not all 3.

Works fine for me. You have to close the ad that pops up. Or are you getting a 404 or something?

I did have a problem with it a year or so ago, but haven't had any trouble since.

I didn't know that there is an ad that pops up, I've never seen it and when I go there I'm seldomly ever "signed in".

What is the ad for, is it usually the same ad or different ones?

I do know that it loads really slow on dial up, which I don't understand because there isn't that much to it and it has very few layers.

Same one. It is Hostinger Web Hosting. Says FREE HOSTING CLICK HERE

There's an X on the top right corner that closes it. NBD for me! :beerchug:

I figure it pays for the site?

alsparl 01-09-2015 10:48 PM

I have tried the web link on my home computer as well as my work laptop and cannot access it via either one. Wish I could...

Thanks for the information, I had no idea.

As far as it not working... It's not really a big deal, there isn't much there, but it is curious that some can not access it. I promise that I have not "blackballed" anyone.

Sam Mac 01-10-2015 09:03 AM

My anti virus doesn't like your site Mark. Maybe you have cooties. :bigthink:

kostendorf 01-10-2015 11:37 AM

My anti virus shuts it down once then it works after that. Strange ??? Did you get my order?

I'm guessing that you ordered a pair of blade shoes? They went out yesterday, they would have gone out the day before but I didn't notice the order until after I had already been to the Post Office.

kostendorf 01-10-2015 12:15 PM

Thank You Mark, for the quick reply and order. :beerchug:

Every six months or so, someone will PM or email and tell me that they had trouble. Until you guys spoke up I had no idea there were any real glitches, I figured it was just someones firewall (or some other technical thing that I don't understand) gonna have to look into it and see what I can find out.

I don't know what is involved in ridding ones self of cooties, I'll have to look into that too (just in case).

Thank you guys for the heads up.
