This week's project
2 Attachment(s)
this week i had a Chrysler to work on that was repaired(or there version of repaired) by another local shop. these pics show how it looked when it arrived to the shop, note that its the wrong color with no shine and that the body work is absolutely horrible. also note that the door when closed is still sticking out an inch further than the quarter panel because they didn't pull it properly.

after grinding off all there body work i was surprised(not really:biggrin2:) to find they cut a big chunk out and welded it back in but failed to fully weld it solid. after some pulling and adjuting i was ablre to fix most of the fit issues and then welded the 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap shut.

this morning i prepped it for paint and i painted it this afternoon, its still not perfect but its a heck of alot better than it was. the guy that owns this car learned the hard way about taking the insurance money and blowing it then getting stuck paying out of pocket.

wow......its amazing what some people try to do, AND GET PAID FOR!!! you did good Tim....
|
Nice crisp sculpture line. Alignment looks good.
|
Outstanding job, looks great.:beerchug:
What's in the background? Is that a '55' Ford? |
Looks great Tim! Ray Charles could have seen that it looked like crap to start with! I wonder how the other shop thought it looked ok ??

There seems to be some interest in the cars in the background so here they are. First is a 56 crown Vic that's here for a frame off, we haven't started on it yet. Second is a triumph tr3 also here for a frame off, both the tr3 and crown Vic are here all the way from Texas. Last is 78 AMC matedor for some rust repair and a paint job.
|
Tim
You guys do nice work. :beerchug: |
Tim
Did that Crown Vic have the chrome over the roof? Those were beautiful cars like the 55/56 two door Chevys and 55/56 Fords. In The 1960'S I owned a 56 two door hardtop Chevy 283. Would like to see pics of the 56 Crown Vic when it's done. Especially with the kind of work you do.:beerchug: |

Sweet work!
Can you fix the rusting on my truck so it doesn't look like it's a 97 and can last until I can afford a newer one? :beerchug: |

Looks way better than new Terry |
I guess I don't remember the lighter color just the brown

You might tell the guy who owns the van that there is only one thing more expensive than doing a nice quality repair the first time and that's doing it wrong the first time and then having it redone right the second time! That is what my brother, who is a plasterer, always says. I hope he keeps your business card for future reference.
BTW> Take a bow, you do excellent work!! Cub Cadet 123 |

Just got done painting another one, this is a ford 801 so the red is a little more orange than the 8n red.
|
Looking good as always Tim. Hope you post pics of the finished project. :beerchug:

I paint a Lada one time, everything is square like a fracking rubix's cube so that Miata look like a beauty queen to me
There is worse out there...Like a girly who want you to paint his crappy Smart a nice lolly pop pink! :Duh: |
