Looks like a great haul! Nice one nick!:beerchug: (this is pop):biggrin2:
old Simplicity 700 , My dad had one when I was a kid
Model 17 Briggs engine
Nice haul!! I'm diggin' the funky chicken by the flagpole, too!! Guess we know what is your next project. Are you going to restore it? Use it?????
BTW> I think that the steering wheel design on that is designed so a rider can have an extra big belly :biggrin2:. Cub Cadet 123 |
Sweet, yep it's not a Cub but it's cool because it's pre Big Box Store. :beerchug:
Yep, thanks guys it's a 725. I like it
The starter is on backwards.:biggrin2:
Nice find,
never seen a gas powered cart, where is the steering wheel? Nick if you paid 100,that is a myself price |

OK, the 725 was 1961 to 65 I think, had the model 19 briggs in it, 700 was 1959 and 60 and had the model 17. they were nice tractors. bevel gear box seams to be the weak link
Congrats on the new toys Nick!!:beerchug:
Cubcadet if you ever need help with anything on that simplicity, go on YouTube and contact ZippoVarga. Super nice dude, Briggs and Stratton guru and the all is/simplicity go to guy. If I have any questions about anything Briggs he is my first contact. Take a look!
Nice haul Nick:beerchug: did you have to shake the money tree, or was there enough left over from the last harvest?:biggrin2:

So I noticed the PO left the spark plug loose and it was rusty :bash2: and some rust on valve so I removed it with a magnet and soaked with MMO and oil then installed a better plug, then he left out the oil drain plug when he drained oil and some crud was in the threaded hole, so do I have to pull head and pan?

Nick,
Nice procurement of toys. And at half a Lew price/half a Benny, score! Branching out from CC's? BTW, I like the chicken, too. We need some more pics of it. Unless that was the seller's house. :biggrin2: |
That is my house, lol, ok thanks
Nick,I would pull the pan to see what crawled in there,or at least see if the drain plug is not stripped....

I'd have to agree with Justin106. I'd just flush it with some oil then fill it and run it and drain. if you do take the pan off take the rod cap off to and check it. the Briggs model 17 & 19 engines are pretty hard to find parts for. I rebuilt a 17 about 10 years ago and had trouble finding a connecting rod and piston for it. got lucky and posted a wanted add on the simpletractors site and a dealer contacted me that had some NOS stuff
