Narrow frame hydraulic unit "w" spring
Bought a new return spring for my cub 123 from Patton acres. He told me he had a nos one reproduced and has never had a problem with the springs. Says he sells a few a week. When I went to install mine it seems like it's too long and the bend is a 1/4" off. Anyone else have this problem? The guy I talked to was very nice when i explained it to him. He said no problem send it back and he will refund me my money. He also said he is the only one he knows that has these springs and sells to all the other venders. So I either need to find the correct spring or make this one work. It's spring steel so can I just heat it up and rebend it? I will post a pict when my phone charges.

I have never heard of Rich ever jipping anyone.
I'm sure he will make it good. |

But my eye tells me the spring you have is no where near the same as the first pic from cubcadetman.com Yours is shaped like the springs shown in the pump. |
Update,I broke the first spring so I had to order another one. Fits just like the first one i bought from Paton acres. Anyone else having issues with fitment? Do I have a different pump than original? Really need to get this figured out

A visit to CubCadetMan's site might be a good step at this point. I noticed on another forum that one of their members was referred to his site by a couple of other members when he had some questions. You may very well have a pump that was initially built for a different end user.
I ended up visiting the site for info on my pump as I got my setup in pieces and it led me to a wealth of info; parts, rebuild info, differences between the different end users, cheats & tips. The centering spring, IIRC, was one of the parts the changed depending on the end user (IH, Wheel Horse, etc.). |

Check out this thread on the Hein Werner pumps:
http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic...or-rare-parts/ http://www.normstoys.com/index.htm Can't find the parts on his website but maybe his are closer to original shape? |
Mine are pretty much original. They are NOS
I have the parts book for the early originals and it shows the other spring that is listed on his post which BTW is 3 years old. |
