cushman hawk repower

like most of us,we dont need another project..........BUT . last year i picked up a cushman hawk utility with ROPS and dump bed, sporting 23 inch ag tires on 5 bolt rims. well today i picked up a 87 or 88 suzuki 300 quad as a donor for its engine and front suspension.i figured it would make a nice toy,and something to ride around at shows.:bash2:

Wow, that thing looks pretty cool, I'm a little anxious for you to get it going.

likewise sam,i originally was going to use a polaris trans and keep the 16 horse vanguard and cvt setup. unfortunatley a used trans on fleabay was more then the suzuki donor. once i finish the air lift table the suzuki will be its first customer.

yes i am,the cushman just fits as you can see. i have the very first tractor i bought on the lift now. its a agway gt 18,2 speed hydro, hydro lift ,3 point hitch and front pto. its close to a mtd 999,i use it to tow my stuff around and work in the yard some.

mudpatrol1 07-10-2015 08:06 PM

little did i know when i bought the agway,i had been bitten by the tractor bug:bigthink:

I had my 1641 and JD dumper on my lift today getting caught up on some overdue maintenance. Beats the jack and jack stand deal. Enjoy the lift. :beerchug:

i agree, beats laying on the ground any day,it was well worth the price and time i spent making it mine.

update

i have made some progress on this project, the suzuki was stripped of the engine and wiring. i cut the front suspension off the quad as well as the engine mounting cradle. plans are to reuse as much of the original frame where the engine was mounted for ease of repairs etc. today i scored a set of 4 25 inch tall wheels and tires for $100.00. i have been working on repainting and reinstalling the foof and cage assembly. i used spray on bedliner for the cage and roof instead of paint. i will post pictures of my progress shortly
