How's the weather in your neck of the woods?
Right now it's about 75° and mostly sunny out with a slight breeze; absolutely beautiful. And I'm stuck at work :bash2: Lawns haven't been cut (the ones I worry about, anyway) in about two weeks or so, needless to say it's almost like a hayfield out there. The weather is teasing me "Come get your Cub and mow me, I dare ya! Chicken!". I can barely take it! I'm off work in a little under two hours and plan on making up for some lost grass cutting tonight with a vengeance! Perfect weather, cold beer, a Cub ready to mow, and a grill waiting for me afterwards; what could be a better way to spend a Friday evening? Oh, and the cherry on top is it's pay day as well!
So, what is the Cubbing community up to today? Out enjoying the weather, I assume! :biggrin2: Enjoy the day guys, and be safe! :beerchug: |
Strange summer here this year. There are days you can run the A/C and the next day you can run the furnace. Lot's of rain here in the last two weeks. It has been a struggle to mow the lawn between rains. 66° here today and yes, one could turn the furnace on. Seems like a sin to turn the heat on in June...
|
Been getting lots of rain lately, got a new pool and have hardly been able to enjoy it. My yard needs mowed which hopefully I can get done after work.
|
Sounds like I'm not the only one with the mowin blues brought on by a case of the heavy rain. Guess well see if mother nature can hold off the rain long enough for me to catch up on grass killing!
Another casualty of all the rain is the weeds in the garden. Holy cow, I've never seem 'em sprout up like they are this year!! It's either too rainy/muddy to try and weed, too hot, or no time. Guess I'll have to pick away at that this weekend if I can. |
HOT and HUMID down here! High around 95 today.

Absolutely beautiful here, dry, 72 degrees, nice breeze off of Buzzards Bay, looking out over the Elizabeth Islands. Too dry though, this is my first year in 25 not making hay and glad for it, the grass is just not growing, so no Cub time. But good weather for this.... spent the week dismantling and crating this 1930's telescope, and for you Illinois boys yes that is a silo top converted for use as the top of the observatory.

That is very interesting twoton and thanks for sharing. Always cool to see what someone else does.
Mid nineties here and hear index over 100 everyday, gotta love the sunshine state. It's around 81 degrees at 6 AM daily, steamy to say the least |

Hot, Humid, Hot, Humid did I mention Hot and Humid? After last winter I'm all good with Hot + Humid. Get hot and sweaty, jump in the pool then repeat. Happy, Happy, Happy. You'll never hear me complain about it being hot. :beerchug:

Today was the perfect day. Woke to high 50's, then by noon mid 70's and right now 7:26 pm 70*
But we also have been getting enough rain through out. First year we haven't had to water the garden yet, ole Mother Nature has been taking care of that. But here in WI the weather can change pretty fast..... But I'm with Sam. No complaints on it being to hot :beerchug: I'll take that over winter anytime:beer2: |

I had a wee 'un compared to that, an 8" reflector on a german equatorial with motorized skewing and tracking but sold it a few years back, just had no time. But that beauty is in a whole different class! I take it you must be into astro photography as well? Very Very nice, and cool idea using a silo dome! |
little rainy in the past few weeks after none for a few months before.Pool is 78 and the garden is doing well.

Exactly how it's been in South East Michigan too. My backyard is a low spot and normally isn't an issue but half of my yard has been under water for the last month. The humidity has been so high that the grass, that isn't already under water, doesn't dry out and clumps like crazy when you mow it. If anyone watched the Nascar race last sunday from Michigan you'd know how crappy of a late spring we've had. (not to mention the worst race I'd ever been to). |
I'd rather have cold and snowy weather. But, looks like we'll be making first cutting hay about, November, December....raining every other day here. I bit the bullet and mowed the lawn with wet grass that was almost a foot tall....2072 hates me now. Lol

Hot, rainy and very very muggy! We've gotten so much rain my garden looks like hell! Over 7" since last Friday. The grass is a chore to keep up with. Supposed to have a heat index of 101 tomorrow!
|
Pretty well the same here. Wanna go fishing but stuck at work. And gotta work on the f250 and honduh when I get home
|
mid 90's to 100 here, running a good 5 deg hotter than normal. Fortunately we have been getting scattered thunderstorms most days and the reservoirs are pretty full. Hoping to see some low 90's soon, but its not being forecasted.

It's looking like here in the NY, NJ, & PA area, we are going to be getting the remains of tropical depression Bill. Watches and warnings for flash flooding issued yesterday, with some areas getting up to 4 inches of rain. :bash2:

Bright side is the car washes are having great profits. We had a good start on planting, then it rained some, finally we all got planted in this area. Now it is raining on/off every couple of days with a couple of bigger accumulations. Many farmers lost some crop areas to flooding. Some hay fields are cut and rotting instead of drying, others are overdue for cutting. I was south of Detroit Metro airport (DTW) about 10 miles last evening, and only 5% of anything is planted, with water standing in last falls muddy combine ruts. Crop spraying is only a hope @ this time and need lots of sun, and no rain to dry things. Lawn mowing here, is in between rains with clumping under the deck, the norm. Why can't California get a little of this moisture? |
Freaking hot, humid and dry here and it is going to be hotter next week.:bash2: They are calling for 96 here on Tuesday...Georgia Power is loving it. Me, not so much.
|
its 117 in arizona where my parents are, makes temps in the 90,s seem like winter.

117 is hot that's for sure, but I will take that over 90 and 85% humidity. Dry heat doesn't feel as bad as that old sticky muggy crap. All I have to do is step outside and I'm soaked! Guess I better get off the recliner and go now, or have the yard baled!:beerchug: |

As of 5:00 PM today the weather sucks. Rain on and off since about 2:30 and we are about to get slammed with a thunder storm. Let me correct that we are getting slammed. Later kids, turning the putter off now. :beerchug:
