My first Super and more

I picked this up several weeks ago but haven't had time to post it... so here goes.

I found this nice one owner 1782 near Columbia SC on Craigslist. It's the first Super I've seen in the southeast so I had to grab it! You guys seem to hoard them all up north! The guy also just so happened to have a nice 128 sitting in the corner. It followed the 1782 out of the garage like a lost puppy so I just couldn't leave it there! Yellow fever got me again! The guy bought them both new!

On the way home I happened to think that this is my first Super, my first CCC built machine, my first Diesel and my first Cyclops all in one!

The 1782 runs great and was well maintained but does have a few issues. The 60" Haban has been with it since new. It spent it's early years mowing a large 15 to 20 acre recreation field in PA before moving with its owner to SC about 15 years ago.

I plan to go through it over the next several months, service it, repair some issues, give it some SamMac upgrades and then use it to mow about 3 acres.

Im gonna need a lot of help from you guys with tips and advice. Im not new to the Cub Cadet scene but I sure don't know much about a CCC Super!

Congratulations on the Super.

That super looks good. Glad you found one, there's not many by me either.

Good looking machines. That is also a nice Cub hauler you have there. What kind of rollback have you got.

Thanks for the nice comments and encouragement guys! I can't wait to get into the Smoker and see what she needs to get back on top of her game..

CubDieselFan,
My hauler is a 96 Ford F450 Superduty with a 19 x 8 steel Dual Tech Bed. I like the fact that it has an IH 7.3 Smoker in it! We use it daily in our Jeep parts and repair business.... but it does come in handy to haul cubs... I wasn't going to take it on this trip but the overall width of the Haban wouldn't go between the rails on my trailer. Im glad I did drive it after finding the "bonus" 128!

Nice find jaynjeep.:beerchug: Good to see another smoker in Georgia. Congrats on both of them.

Thanks Oak... took me a long time to find one close enough to go get. Apparently they didn't sell many supers down this way. I really didn't want a Cyclops...but hey they are growing on me!

I'm glad you got it but you almost missed it. You were one payday ahead of me,I had talked to the guy about it the week before but was a little short on $$$

Man im sorry.. I took a day off work on a Tuesday to go get it cause I knew somebody was gonna snatch it up. I had been trying to get ahold of him for about a week and a half before he finally replied back. He did say that someone was coming that Thursday to look.... that may have been you...
After getting it home and looking closer it does have more issues than I originally thought...I'm gonna play with it a while but may sell it later... especially if I find a '89 or older super...I'll keep you in mind!
Thanks

No need to apologize,I'm just happy it went to a good home.
