Cub hauler thread number 2

Was just reading Ryans thread on being debt free with no truck payment and Oaks response on maintaining your truck with how many miles were on each. It got me thinking, I used to go to jeep events and there was actually a category on who had the most miles. It always intrigues me on how many miles people can get out their rides, or hours on equipment, etc before they get rid of it. Also over the road trucks amaze me with some in the Multi million mile club. Hoping to hear some stories about how many you've got on the clock.

My cub hauler has 224k on the clock and ticking, 1996 gmc Sierra with 6.5 diesel and still have the Cherokee with 196k on it. Here's a pic

Your so lucky to not live in the rust belt!!!!

Cant get my phone to upload pics but the truck I just sold off was a 98 gmc k1500 extended cab. Just had clicked over 353,000 miles when I signed off on the title. It's still being daily driven with zero issues and still pulls a trailer like a new one. My "new" cub hauler is a 77 f250 supercab trailer special with 108k on original 460 and c6

Yeah George I'm from upstate NY so I know all about rust and working on vehicles there. I don't ever remember a drum coming off unless you beat it with a 2 pound sledge and then when that didn't work time to bust out the fire wrench.

Wow. Awesome on both accounts. Did the gmc have a small block or 4.3?

cubby102 06-25-2015 08:16 PM

It has the 350 vortec in it as well as the 14 bolt rear HD suspension and just about everything else you could have and still be a half ton...whoever ordered it knew how to order a truck

Yup, in the rust belt the components keep going strong but the bodies fall off of 'em. My truck is 18 years old and it's got the same problem.

That's cool Curt. I just sold my YJ I built and it had 210k on it. Is yours the 4.0? Amazing motor.

00009 miles on it, it's worn out, time to trade it for something new. :ROTF1::ROTF2:

Not quite old enough for a learners in MD, but my dad's old F150 has 228k and counting on the famous big six. The Northeast rust might get to it before the mileage does though

I have a 1990 Dodge D250 Cummins: Just over 500K on it. Can't prove it as it's on the second odometer and it's now broke. I bought it with about 225K on it in 2003 (I think). It's not much to look at but fires up faster than you can pull your hand off the key. Will still fire down to about 15 deg without being plugged in but doesn't like it. Second injection pump, original injectors. 2 transmissions, (now needing the 3rd) original rear end. I've rebuilt the driveline 3 times, front end once and haven't done a rear brake job in 100K miles. It's a good truck, but UGLY! I still like her. I can't seen to find a pic. I'll see if I can snap one this weekend.

Those are always the best ones. My 84 720 is sort of like that. No matter the temp or how low the battery is if it can manage one rev it'll pop off and run.

I have 206k on my 07 LBZ Duramax with the Allison transmission. I replaced 1 glow plug so far, both batteries and the brakes last for 125k.
