Serial number on 104?

Can anybody help me locate the serial number on my 104? Trying to find what year it would be. I have done a lot of work to her but have not seen any tags except the one on rear end. And cast number on side of rearend. Thanks.

It's the tag on the rear end
There is a chart here in the tech section
What's the number on the tag?

288785. That is in the very rear of tractor by the hitch. What is the cast number up side down on side of rear?

Thanks Tim and Terry! Was curious. There is a cub dealer that was good friends of my old man about 45 mins from me and i am gonna go see what he has left in his gold mine of these old gems. I grew up right up the road from them and went to school with his kids and every time we would go by the place there would be a hundred old Cubs out front!

What size machine? I will see what he has.

Terry C 08-23-2015 12:42 PM

102-104. Gear drive was all that had a rear PTO
Rear PTOs are pretty rare.
Supers and those size machines had them
You can get the gear box for a tiller that would go on any cub but that still runs off the front PTO

Yosemite Sam 08-23-2015 01:15 PM

Rear PTO's were available for all of the cast iron gear drive trans-axles.
