Modified 169 with tracks plowing snow
Just stumbled upon this video. Wasn't looking for it and I saw the homemade set of tracks that he made. I won't knock it, because I am not inclined to fab that up, but if I was then I would not do it to a 169. Oh, well, to each their own.....Enjoy the video!

Not impressed, look how small that blade is and its still spinning.
|
Why is his blade so small???:bigthink:
|
I hate to say it, but the Bolens pushed the snow without really spinning!
|
Some weights and chains would be better . Look like 3 monkeys and a foot ball

I wonder if he also made a tow bar for that wrecker boom?
|
Looks neat but man that thing also looks useless. Looks like someone with more mechanical ability than common sense.
Oh, and wtf is up with all those small blades?! They can convert a tractor to tracks but can't make a blade more than 6" tall?! |

Looks like it works poorer than my un tracked 147 in the snow, and my operators platform is more comfortable than his set up.
Points for thought however. |
Got news for you, this guy (Danny) is what you can call a "redneck mechanic" he live up North in Québec and he's a pretty good young fabricator, they just fab those plow for fun and they joking about it in the video (In French). Nothing for show and shine, just getting the job done in pure "redneck style". I can believe either someone can do that to a rare 169.:bash2:
You can see many video he did of his Cub cadet loader and his Cub cadet "Crawler" like he call it , his track did a good job "Towing" big lugs in the wood but not on icy hard surface. Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cA-20-2g0M PS: I'm still thinking ATV tracks are a good idea , sorry wrong color :-) http://www.mytractorforum.com/attach...0&d=1398355142 |
