Help results
Just joined the OCC.
Made my first post, a request for info and links to manuals and help. One guy responds with: It's crap, junk it. No help other than there was a post a week ago about this. This the normal response from the people on here?? I respond to an outboard repair site. I've posted over 11,000 times and never once did I ever post anything like this. If you DON'T want to help?? DON"T RESPOND!!! |
I responded with a link to another thread.... did you read that? Time is money also....No user serviceable parts on the POS ZT...

Happens all the time here: New guy joins just to get an answer. Probably has no interest in cub cadets. The answer given is not what he wants to hear. Now he lashes out at posters.

I read and re-read this post a few times and see the OP's point. It seems to me the point of contention is the disrespective post saying the machine he owns, that probably thousands own is a "throw away machine".
Whether it is, or whether it is not is not for the peanut gallery to say to the owner. It's like saying your kid is ugly. Disrespectful even if the kid is indeed butt ugly. May I make a suggestion? The answer should have been: "It would seem your machine's hydro is pretty much unserviceable and you may be better served by looking for a replacement. ". Whether this poster becomes part of the community or not deserves at least a better welcome. Otherwise, we are all just a crusty bunch of dudes with a tractor fetish. |

I don't think the machine is his and, I believe in brevity |

Well said, SW! If someone can't say anything nice, then don't say anything! :beerchug:

Lets be honest here, this site is way more about vintage machines (at least more than 15 years old.

Mostly vintage yes, exclusionary? Not yet. Should the doors to the club be closed unless one has a serial number beginning with certain stipulated numbers? Where are we going here? |

Section "Cub Cadet Rear Engine Rider & ZTR (RER)" has 84 threads on this site. All others sections pertaining to older machines out number it nearly 10:1 and and way more. So maybe the newer stuff is better than the older stuff since there are so few posts pertaining to the newer stuff versus the older stuff? I have not looked but I bet there are other forums that are exclusively for Cub Cadet ZTR's and the box store models. |

Your better off finding the forum that deals in your model more so than this forum. Just like the car forums, the goods ones are concentrated on the particular models. |

OK for what it's worth I tried to list a few sources of info for the OP even to the extent of a link to Hydro Gear's tech manual section. I even went so far as to PM the OP with the link. My guess is no one on this site has worked on the hydro drives of a Cub zero turn. Agreed we for the most part deal with pre 1997 vintage tractors but the reality is even though the newer stuff is not built to last like the older stuff people come to OCC because OCC is supposed to be the "Best Cub Site" well we need to be prepared to deal with the new stuff or put a disclaimer that we only deal with pre 1997 vintage equipment. I could go on but it's just going to be counter productive. :beerchug:
