126 mower deck on a 129???

Will this work? I have a deck on my 129 already so all I need is the deck.
from what I understand a 126 is a narrow frame and my 129 is a wide frame.
I have done a bunch of searches but can't search for 129 [to short].
One possible problem is belt size?

Yes if will work provided you have the correct mule drive, the mule drive needs to have straight pulleys not angled pulleys.

First, welcome to OCC..... :Welcome2:

Your inquiry is kind of vague and confusing. Are you attempting to install a mower deck from a 126 onto a 129..??

If so, what is the model of the 126 deck ?? There were three options during that time.

When looking at the 2 pulleys they are straight up and down.

Yes a deck off a 126 on my 129. I have a 38a deck on the 129.
I can get photos of my deck but I do not have any for the 126 deck.
I will get the model number for the other deck and passably photos.

When looking at the front of the tractor the pulleys need to be straight not angled to the right, as Roland said post up some pics or atleast tell use what size deck your trying to put on the 129.

Well then, "generally speaking", it comes down to getting the correct Mule Drive to make the adaption.

He was not at home when I talked to him. Should find out more today. he thinks it is a 42 inch.

Mule drive looks fine, the 42" deck should work no problem.

That big adjuster knob on the right is interesting. Looks like billet aluminum with a gnurled end you can turn by hand....cool

Thanks for the help with this.
Question: Do the spindles interchange? One deck had spindles that bolted on the top, the other bolted from the bottom. All 6 spindles are good so I will keep the old deck for parts if they interchange. [They look like they do]
The deck I got is in much better condition then the one I had. I cleaned it up and painted it with rust encapsulating paint.
The Mule drive adjustment knob was on the tractor when I got it 13 years ago. I thought it was stock until I noticed photos on this forum.
This is the first post I have made but not the first time I have used this forum, I have gotten information before, like when I rebuilt my PTO clutch last year.

In order to correctly and accurately answer your question(s), we would have to have the Model Numbers of both mower decks.

The original one I had is a "38a Rotary Mower"
the other is "38" Deck 357190 38c"
