126 mower deck on a 129???
Will this work? I have a deck on my 129 already so all I need is the deck.
from what I understand a 126 is a narrow frame and my 129 is a wide frame. I have done a bunch of searches but can't search for 129 [to short]. One possible problem is belt size? |
Yes if will work provided you have the correct mule drive, the mule drive needs to have straight pulleys not angled pulleys.

First, welcome to OCC..... :Welcome2:
Your inquiry is kind of vague and confusing. Are you attempting to install a mower deck from a 126 onto a 129..?? If so, what is the model of the 126 deck ?? There were three options during that time. :TTWWP: |

I can get photos of my deck but I do not have any for the 126 deck. I will get the model number for the other deck and passably photos. |

Well then, "generally speaking", it comes down to getting the correct Mule Drive to make the adaption.

This is my mule drive. Attachment 74092 |
Mule drive looks fine, the 42" deck should work no problem.

That big adjuster knob on the right is interesting. Looks like billet aluminum with a gnurled end you can turn by hand....cool

Thanks for the help with this.
Question: Do the spindles interchange? One deck had spindles that bolted on the top, the other bolted from the bottom. All 6 spindles are good so I will keep the old deck for parts if they interchange. [They look like they do] The deck I got is in much better condition then the one I had. I cleaned it up and painted it with rust encapsulating paint. The Mule drive adjustment knob was on the tractor when I got it 13 years ago. I thought it was stock until I noticed photos on this forum. This is the first post I have made but not the first time I have used this forum, I have gotten information before, like when I rebuilt my PTO clutch last year. |
