Found this locally from the original owner. He passed and his Son was selling this and a larger tractor. I've had a bunch of these, but this is my first one that keeps a constant speed up hills! I guess this is how they are suppose to work. Needs the usual quietline mounts. Unusual to find this with a 38" deck. He said he used it for trimming around the house

Incredible shape, very nice. Yeah that's interesting the old 14 horse must laugh at the 38 inch deck. Very nice machine you picked up, congrats.

Wish I knew how to put multiple pictures in here. Every time I try to put another one it changes to the last one!

Hmmm....
In advance mode, scroll down to "Manage Attachments". Then click "Choose File", then Upload to right. After the file uploads, it show show below in a list. Repeat until you have multiple pics.

Hope this helps. I'd love to see more pics :D

Since I will have to put new motor mounts in, should I get a rail setup welded together? I don't have a welder, so I'll have to find one! Anyone have one? Any good mounts on the aftermarket side or should I go with factory Cub mounts?

Have a qualified welder connect the rails. There is an excellent procedure here outlining this necessary modification.
I have had very good results with the OEM Cub Cadet engine mounts. Keep in mind it is an old Quietline and it will continue vibrate and rattle to some degree.

Good Luck!:beerchug:

I make solid mounts and could do the cradle mod too.

Jeff

Jeff, how much vibration is there with the solid mounts? The cost compared to Cub mounts?

Terry C 07-06-2016 10:07 AM

Sorry I'm late to the party. That is one nice 1450!!! Congrats :beerchug:

I didn't notice much difference with solid mounts on mine. Although I had lots of rattles before. I have sorted most of those out. But, I used to own an old Wheel Horse, and my 1200 certainly doesn't vibrate any more, and I don't think it's any worse than any other old tractor with a big single cylinder engine.

They didn't use iso-mounts before the QL, and those machines seemed to do alright.

As for cost, if you plan on getting "official" Cub Cadet mounts, solid is cheaper. Even used ones run a pretty penny.
