Neighbor did it this time
1 Attachment(s)
For the last 5 years since I moved to my place in Galax I have been servicing the neighbors MTD Yardman and only charging for parts. Time after time I've told her it's time to replace it with a Cub. I've found her 5 or 6 nice machines and always got the "I can't afford that" so what does she do, go out and buy a used Crapsman with a Kohler Courage and not even a call asking what I thought. Hope she's happy and hope she can find someone else to wrench on it. :bash2:
Pic is off the net. As they say here in the south "Bless Her Heart" :biggrin2: |
She definately has some courage to own a courage..............junk. At least you tried Sam.
|
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
|
No longer my problem. She can find a new place to get her junk serviced. I honestly do not need or want the practice working on nasty belt drive lawn mowers. Bad enough that I have to deal with the 2 BIL's 2000 series stuff that they run into the ground. Have one on the lift at the moment that needs a pinion gear for the steering. Never seen one go bad but then again why should you use a grease gun? Maybe so that the steering is free to move? Nah just crank on it harder. Did I ever mention that I have a huge dislike for people that just abuse good equipment? Rant over. :beatdeadhorse: Heading off for a cocktail refill. :biggrin2: :beerchug:

Oh my gosh! Lol good thread!

Sam, I know exactly what you are talking about. Had a similar experience recently with a "supposedly" a good friend. Done some work to help them out and I couldn't even get a "thank you".

Good one Sam!:biggrin2:

Sam what's with all this yellow tractors matter talk. All tractors matter. It's all fun and games until the buses full of protesters show up at your door. I have heard the all red tractors matter group are a tough bunch. Be careful.
I think your neighbor's sister lives next to me. The other day she brought her junk over for service. The problem is her junk is very very old no parts available. I told her to soak it down with corrosion X and see if things improve. I might have to refer her to you. |
Where I live, I don't have any neighbors..... closest ones are not hot either. :biggrin2:
|
I have neighbors, too close sometimes. Some old equipment, some with not many hours, some worn out! Lol some of the equipment doesn't have much tin work on when it goes by! Lol I'll admit there's a few I'd like the service their chassis, better to just let it be though! Lol

I just rediscovered yesterday what a pain it is working on the little LTs. Had to change the drive belt on an old (2003)Troy built. Took half a day. All the springs and pulleys and hangers / tunnel cover and battery and tray removal...sheesh ..I`ll change belts on the 982 any day over that.:beer2:
