Bagger for Cyclops

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, Noob here,

(Reposted from Off Topic>General...Opps!)

Recently bought a CC 2182 with a GT 54” 324190 deck. In searching for a bagger, accessories list a 293 (190-293-100). I came across a 345 (190-345-100). In comparing part number’s (snoozer), they have the exact same, except the 345 has an additional assembly for a “reverse rod,” and the deck bracket part numbers are different.
Does anyone know if it will fit my deck? The unit came off a 3185 with a 48” deck.

Not exactly answering your question, but. I use the same mower deck, 324190, on my 1864. I also have a Trac-vac. I tried a bagger unit using the mower deck discharge boot from the Trav=vac. Did not work even with dry grass, a very light cut and a high lift blade on the outboard location. Always clogged in the smooth plastic discharge tube. The dealer suggested a mower deck blower unit. I didn't bother trying to locate one.

I had a 1440 with a 46" deck and a bagger, it worked great. wish I hadn't sold it.

A 46" deck works great for bagging without a fan assist. Works even better with a pull behind cart and and blower.

A fan assist/bagger is listed for an 1864. Doesn't say which deck it is used for.

Having used the 46" decks and the 48"/54" decks, I'd be surprised if the latter would work for bagging without some kind of vacuum assist.

Bagger has blower.

Thank you for responding so quickly.
The 293 and 345 are fan assist baggers. Just wondering if the 345 will fit on my deck.

I use a 345 FAB on my 3205 and it works awesome. I would think that it is impossible to clog one. If you are talking about the deck bracket part# 603-0624, you don't need those, mine are missing and it still works great. I don't know what that reverse rod is either. I'll check mine but I think it is missing. If you don't mind me asking, what price are they asking for it?

345 Bagger

They want 450. Can't seem to find any used power assist ones anywhere.

I have a 46 GT deck and triple bagger on my 2182. Works very very well! Am very happy with it. I use it for grass and leaves and never gets clogged. Just make sure grass is dry. I see the 46 inch deck and bagger setup for sale occasionally on craigslist if nothing you find works. However, I am not sure if the mule drive is different for a a SGT vs. a GT. The setups I usually see are for GTs.

I have a fan assist for the gt48/54 decks. I prefer the gt 46 high vacuum deck and bagger setup. Very simple and effective. Used it on my 18s in the past, but currently in the works of hooking it up to my 1450, just to try it out.

The cyclops decks work on either a gt or sgt... exception being the 60" haban

Can you post a picture of the fan assist on a Cyclops with the 48/54? I've never seen one.

That's a good looking setup!

I will post a pic, but need to go out and get it. I got rid of the deck i had it on. I do have another 54" deck for a mock pick. The discharge from the blower is actually square. When I did it, i didnt take the time to make a square to round, just slid the tube over it and taped. It worked good, but i like the smaller size for where i mow, so i never really did anything with it after i tried it out

Vertigo1 09-14-2016 03:48 PM

Picked it up over the weekend.

Well, it was advertised as sitting around for a while, and it was. Got it home and spread out and it needs a GP-48-54-29 Driven Threaded Pulley, which I knew about and a 13026-0637 Hitch Bracket I didn't know about.
Bracket on the way from eBay, but can't seem to find the pulley anywhere.
Any ideas on where to pick up this special pulley?

PeterJ 09-15-2016 01:10 AM

Part number for the drive pulley is: GP-48-54-29

http://www.cubparts.com/pages/oempar...______________

They say "call us" on the availability. I suspect it can be cross referenced to another part. If you get in a pickle, I will be pulling mine out in the next couple of weeks and I could get you some measurements at that time.

The only way mine plugs is if I let the bags over fill.

My blower housing has a hole wearing into the bottom. While looking this info up for you I see a "steel liner" is available! I thought I was going to have to replace the entire blower housing @ $274, but the liner appears to be available for only $32 :beerchug:

PeterJ

PS: I have the operators manual for the Model 293 TRIPLE REAR BAGGER WITH FAN ASSIST (for GTs and SGTs with Model 317 48" Deck or Model 324 54" Deck)

Id love to see the setup the way cub intended it to be. Do you have pictures? Interested in how they attached the fan assist to the bagger

Oak 09-15-2016 08:36 AM

Vertigo1, I'll get you some pics of the pulley needed. It threads on top of the right side spindle but the pulley for the blower will be about 2-3" higher than the deck pulley. It is just a pulley with a threaded spacer on the bottom of it.

PeterJ, I think they come with that steel liner in them but mine broke loose and I now have a hole in my housing. IIRC it is just a rectangular piece of heavy gauge sheet metal that is riveted in place.

Rescue, the fan assist is hung off of the deck. I'm not sure how that would effect the cut on a deck that doesn't ride on the ground.

Here's a pic of my 345. They drive it from the other side. I changed the tie down strap to a threaded rod to hold it in place.:biggrin2:

Oak,
That's the one I picked up last weekend. Still can't seem to find anyone with a threaded drive pulley. The sellers that say call them, can't find it either.
Please send dimensions, when you remove yours.
Thanks

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. If Jeff can return it to me pretty quick I don't mind sending it to him so he can copy it.

Vertigo1 09-18-2016 11:04 AM

Thanks Oak.

Very nice pics. Not sure who "Jeff" is, but I contacted Mark Hellrung from the sponsor ontop each page. I will send him the pics / dimension's to see if he can make one.

Quick question, is there a "trick" to getting the impeller out of the housing after removing the bearings / axle? Or better left alone?

Thanks again,
Vertigo1

Question: The "bolt" on top of the 4 inch pulley, is it used to fasten the pulley to the extension, or the spindle, or both?

Vertigo1

Oak 09-26-2016 08:59 PM

I did replace the impeller on mine and I remember it was not real easy to get out but I did it.

That is a nut welded on top of the 4" pulley so you can tighten it to the spindle.

Vertigo1 10-02-2016 04:51 PM

Thanks Oak, Mark is backed up right now. Maybe in a month, or so.

Vertigo1 02-18-2017 04:14 PM

Hey Oak, Can you tell me where the spring attaches to blower on this 345 I have. It's been so long I can't remember. I see the hole on the arm of the flat drive pulley, but can't tell where the other end hooks to, from the manual.

Thanks,
