1811 or 1812 or either one worth it? DAM Or 1864??
 

I was thinking about picking up a 1811,I found one with a snow blower and mowerdeck. I'm not finding much recent info about them on the internet. Seems that 10 years ago opinoin was it was a good tractor.

I've also found a 1812 with a mower deck for about the same money.

just wondering what current opinion is.

what are these things worth? seems a bit much

They're both great tractors, if I had the choice I would go for the 1812 since it has dual hydraulics. The 1811 and 1812 are considered some of the best Cub's ever made.

1811 more or less replaced the 782--both are some of the finest all around Cadets ever built. We put an 1811 back into service this spring and absolutely love its versatility mowing. If you find a good one or have the means to put one back into good working order, you should be well pleased. They handle great, have plenty of power (but are not overpowered), overall easy to operate and service. Big enough for a larger operator, but not oversized like the Supers that can be a little uncomfortable unless you are 6'8" (and that's coming from a guy over 6'). To sum it up, Cadet got it right with those.

now I just need to decide how far I want to drive to get one
the 1811 is 2 hours away and the 1812 is 3 hours away

I'm leaning towards the 1811 as it is closer and comes with the snow blower/wheel weights/chains
I'm not sure I would ever need the dual hydraulics, not sure what I'd use it for.

Get them both if the budget allows. You will wished you have later.

Ohhhh famous last words, but you can just add triple hydraulics to your 1811 for about 200.00 this way you will have the blower etc, which is harder to get than an h3 valve and plumbing.

2-3 hours drive is easy. Not bragging but one of my pick-ups was 5 hours one way. Many guys here have driven days for a machine. You can do it, go get them!

When I got the 1211 off Lew it was 5 1/2hrs each way, it was well worth it.

I've been to Lew's 3 times and its always a good time, he's got plenty of stories and there's always new stuff to see.

My 1811 is maybe my favorite of the Cubs I own. They really got it right with the 1811. I also got lucky and got mine from the original family with all the manuals and brochures, and even the original bill from 1988.

I own 3 1864's.... They are phenomenal machines. Basically an arguably better version of the 1811. They have the command engine, power steering, super steer axle, tilt wheel, better mower decks... Biggest draw back is the "plastic". They are my absolute favorite.

It all comes down to condition and extras. If in good condition, well maintained, then $1100 seems fair. Plastic ages and cracks. Replacements available.

If i was going to give $1100 for an 1864 it better look pretty good. Without a pic of it, we have no idea. Might be worth it, might not.

If it is in good shape I think it is a great deal. The blower is worth $350.00 or more depending on condition and model, add in the snow plow, 54" deck, weight box and chains and the tractor is pretty cheap. The 1864 is a great tractor other than the plastic. If you have a need and use for the attachments it you probably cannot go wrong. Have you tried to talk the owner down? Good luck with which ever one you decide to get.

after talking to the guy, the blower is an allis adapted to the cub, the blade is of unknown manufacture
he's not interested in breaking up the set??

I may have to keep looking

yes, I waited for my 2185 to come along, then waited for the price to come down, when he finally hit $450 I went and looked, talked him into $250.
(needed a muffler, coil, rear seal, mule drive pulley and a good cleaning)
