I need 3 more.

I picked up a pretty sweet 122 the other day and I've come to the realization that I need 3 more tractors to have one from every series. I need an O, 1x6/7 and a QL. Currently held in my possession are a 100, 122, 104, 108, 782 and a 1211(and a bunch more that are doubles). I'm not actively looking for the missing tractors but if I can come across a good deal for a desirable model from the missing series then I will pick it up. How close are you to having a full set?

You should be able to pick up the "rare" 126 around your area. Seems like there's always one for sale. I have the complete 6/7 series now. I'm going to add a never-made 146 to the collection too.

You need a 72 or a 73. They are unique enough to be their own series IMHO.
Plus any self respecting IH guy needs a 982. Then you would have the first and last that IH built.

Around here I can find a 126 any day of the week and that would most likely be the one I'd get since I don't really care for that series.

What if I'm not self respecting? Maybe I don't need a big tractor to make me feel better about myself.:biggrin2: I'd like to have a 982 someday but people seem to think they're worth a fortune even when they're a beat POS.

I'm missing a 70/100, a 1x4/x5, and a quiet line.
I have the O, 102, 127, 108.

DeltaCub 11-21-2017 09:57 AM

Tim,

Get a QuietLine and quit whinning!:biggrin2:

That's no joke.

You can get a 4 digit O for less!!!
You can likely get a 3 digit O for the same money...... or less.... than some people want for a 982.

I have a 982, but I don't have an O. :biggrin2:

I feel your pain on 982 prices. But you can’t take your money with you.:biggrin2:
As far as what I’m looking for, a hydro quiet line would be nice and a 126.

Same here but no 982 but almost had one.

johncub7172 11-21-2017 12:31 PM

Well, my "full set" is 1 narrow frame gear drive, 1 wide frame gear drive, 1 narrow frame hydro, 1 "wide frame" hydro. If I was not married, I'd rival Lew in numbers for sure! :biggrin2:

But when it comes to the 982, why I'd love one! I simply got too much time and money into my keepers to even feel a need to bother with a 982. With a 2000' home, 5 acres, 26 chickens, garden, full time job,.......well, you all know how it goes! My focus will turn to implements and refurbishing those.

john hall 11-21-2017 02:35 PM

Well, we had a 3,6,7 and 982 until last weekend----the 382 went to a fellow wanting to gather a set of "red ones" last weekend.

Had a 128 and 129 "pair" but got rid of the 129 last year.

Everybody needs a 982.:biggrin2:

Tim,

You made me stop and think??:bigthink:

I think I may have at least one from each IH series by accident.. didn't even realize it till you brought it up.. but wait my 982 is CCC built... so that may not count!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

I'll have to take a tally and make sure!:beerchug:

Shrewcub 11-21-2017 06:33 PM

Aluminium or cast iron rear, Jay?

Riley Henderson 11-21-2017 07:10 PM

Ive got both a gear drive and hydro example of every series except the 1x4/1x5 series and I am missing an original as far as the 982 goes it wouldnt break my heart if I never get one my 2072 scratched my itching for a "super GT".:beerchug:

Travis the 982 is an early CCC unit with the IH built cast iron transaxle so maybe that does count?:bigthink:

Now you need one of those rare early 2072's with an Onan. Somebody here has one, can't remember who though.:bigthink:
