My badly beat up 1450
2 Attachment(s)
I have owned this tractor for 29 yrs...bought it cheap because it used copious amounts of oil and looked like hell. Rebuilt the engine many years ago and still runs pretty well. This has been a snow plow, tiller and now snow blower unit for all these years. Maybe someday it will be prettied up too. In the meantime, it keeps my driveway clear and the garden tilled. So raise your beer glass and salute the old 1450! :beer2:
My little Simplicity is getting ready for Spring. Semi annual maintenance. |

Cheers! Love the QLs, too!
Here's my trusty 108. We bought it for $1500 in 1978 (a LOT of money for a young couple back then, but we had 1.5 acres to cut), used, from a local dealer. Has seen continuous use ever since, with a restoration/update in 2013 and an engine rebuild in 2015. She's purrin' like a kitten again and is my weekly grass killer. It'll be 40 years next spring. Hard to believe! |

I bought my first Cub Cadet in 2001, a wore out 127. Traded it the following year for my 1811 which I still own. Seems like a long time until I read stuff like this. Here's to our tractors! :beerchug:

Dad bought this faithful old 1450 in 1976.. It has served our family well for the past 41 years! It was retired from garden duty about 10 years ago but She still pulls grass duty at mom's house every year without a whimper.:beerchug: One engine rebuild, one carburetor, one steering box, several deck rebuilds, several sets of engine mounts, and one paint job. I grew up on this tractor and at one time in the 80's I was cutting half the neighborhood with it!.. I wish I knew how many hours it had on it!:biggrin2::biggrin2: |
Your 1450 don't look "badly beat" at all. I'd add it to my "badly beat" group any day Beth.:beerchug:

Great pictures and great stories people, thanks for sharing!:beerchug:
Hey Jay, I think you told us before but I forget, whats that push bar on the front of your tractor?:bigthink: |
It wears its years well...and it looks like you have a small fleet of them. Always good to have a spare (or 4)
|
The tractors look great and the stories are neat too. :beerchug:

You have a nice have fleet there DeltaCub, your 1450 looks fine, so if I add up the numbers you should be 39 years old!
Nice lineup Frank! Looking good there Jay! |

If by calling that machine "beat up" is a means to make the rest of us feel bad about our machines.......
Just teasing. Seriously, that's a nice looking worker. Yeah compared to the others you are in process of making trailer queens out of it looks rough, but for a worker, it appears to be a nice machine. Heck, with the exception of my 2072, all of mine looked worse than that when I got them. |
I bought a nicely equipped but ugly as sin (painted Smurf and Amoco blue) 125 this past spring. Removed what I wanted from it and took it back to the auction.

You can see a glimpse of it behind this 1650...It was so ugly that I stored it behind the barn |
