Black ice.
Got to work this morning and made it about 3 steps away from my truck and I was airborne. 240lb landing on an elbow isn't fun and my pants are still wet.:bash2:

Yup. Be careful when moderate freeze and thaw temperatures take over. Can be treacherous. Hope your sudden stop on terra firma was nothing serious.
|
May yer butt dry and your elbow heal. Glad it wasn't any worse. Take care.
|
OUCH!
Be careful Tim! You too Stan. Saw you hurt your finger the other day. How's it healing? |
Lots of ice on the roads early this morning when I was driving through Mary Land. But its 60 in North Carolina right now.:beerchug:
|
Tim, I believe you have added some weight since I saw you a few years ago. Glad you were not hurt. Have a great day.

This "Black Ice" must be some politically correct invention.:bigthink:
Where I come from, Ice is as clear as the water it froze from, and slicker than snot on yer middle finger. Sorry you fell and "soiled" yer britches. That's hurtful. But you are Lucky, it could of been worse. A Lady I know fell, & broke her wrist, shoulder and hip. Some plates/screws in her wrist and shoulder and a new arti-fishal hip were the outcome. Getting old ain't the "golden" years.:Irratated: |

Thanks for bringing us warm weather. ^^ Tim for the win :-) |
I like Bobs honesty. I’m gaining on you Tim, 20 to go and I’m there.
Black ice does suck though. I came off our deck once and hit it and I swear I was completely horizontal about a foot off the sidewalk and the first thing to hit was the back of my head. Still hurts just thinking about it. |
Sorry Tim about your fall, as long as you didn't get hurt all is good, but I did check with USGS and they did record a slight tremor this morning in the Indiana PA area.

Ka zinggggggg...... |
had that happen last year, was out shopping with my wife and on the way home just had to stop for a pit stop, and too cold out to "find a tree" along the side of the road (ha ha)
so I stopped at a Speedway gas station. On the way back to the Jeep, I stepped off the sidewalk with my 1st foot/ and as SOON as I picked up my 2nd foot, down I went.:bash2: elbows hit the ice covered asphalt, head hit the concrete sidewalk that I had just stepped off of.... and was slick enough I couldn't hardly get up off the ground.... I'm not that big, 5'11 and 225#..... |
As they say, it ain't the fall, but the sudden stop that hurts. Glad you're still with us, and not broken up in a hospital.
Did you get up and look around, to see if anyone was watching?:biggrin2: Been awhile since I slipped and fell on the ice.:biggrin2: But have been wheeling up a ramp, the wheels spin, and fall out frontwards. But, that's another story.:bigthink: |
