782 rear lift
What does the lift bar for the rear lift look like on a 782? I tried searching but haven't found much.

Thanks for the help Travis. I did a couple different searches and didn't come up with that thread. Knowing what I know now it turns out the lift I got the other day isn't for a 782 but that's ok because it turns out to be for an 82 series with manual lift which is even harder to find, not sure if I will put it on my 1050 or pass it along to someone else.

What does it look like Tim?
|
Tim, there are 3 different lift bar styles for the 82 series. One for hydraulic lift, one for manual lift, and one for gear drive. The gear drive one is the hard one to find.
Hydraulic lift (782): is straight Manual lift hydro (682): has a bend in the bar at the lift handle end. Manual lift gear drive (582): has 2 bends in it (at least) one at the lift handle, and the rest help fit it around the trans because it mounts different than the hydro trans. I'll see if I can find pics. I have all 3 styles, but some are mounted to tractors. |

Ok, my mistake. There are only 2 lift bars. I really was thinking there were 3, but I don't know why.....
Here is one for the hydraulic lift tractors: Attachment 91639 And the manual lift tractors: Attachment 91640 |

That's what I thought the one for a 682 looked like, but unless the parts book is wrong (it happens) the 5 and 682 use the same one. I really, really thought that was what the 682 looked like....:bigthink: |

Well, I went and looked. I only have 2 styles of lift bar. (Like the pics I posted above.) The 682 had one from a 782 on it. I don't see any reason that a 5 and 6 couldn't use the same bar.....:bigthink:

Now that I know what to look for I will have to keep my eyes open next time I'm at my buddies house, he has about 30 bars in a pile in the corner of the barn so hopefully I get lucky.

When High Speed had a Cub Cadet 3pt on his 782, it had the Straight lift rod... no bends :IH Trusted Hand:

Or... I could always put the extra cat0 setup I have on it.:bigthink:

I understand your apprehension on plowing with the 782 and a Series I, but in most of the pics you guys post of plow days, the plows aren't set very deep. I really don't think it's enough tilt to damage it. I don't know if I would risk it either unless I had another motor for it.... |
Tim, I think Jon is saying you boys in PA don't know how to plow deep....

I mean, look at this: You can see all the rim on the front tire!! Attachment 91683Attachment 91686 Here's how we plow in Illinois! Half the front tire in the furrow. :biggrin2::BlahBlah::BlahBlah: Attachment 91684Attachment 91685 Tim I'm just giving you a hard time. Seriously..... You ought to plow with your 1050! I like plowing with mine. Except you sold me the spring assist that's on it.... hehe. Hope you have another one, LOL! |
That pic was taken at the fall plow day last year and it hadn't rained for a month and the ground hadn't been plowed in over 5yrs, it was like concrete. There were big tractors at that plow day that couldn't get any deeper than 3-4"
