That one looks pretty modern. I think the old ride kings look pretty cool.

Lew, buy that little cutie, join the Knights Of Columbus and become a clown and with your little clown lawn mower go to nearest parade. I am sure Coop and other nearby members will be in attendance to cheer you on! :biggrin2: :beer2:

If I go I'll have to wear Depends, I be laughing so hard!!!!:ROTF1:

Guy at one of the shows wanted to trade me one for a 128. Said it was NOS and had sat in the showroom window for many years. The older ones are neat. The first “zero turn” mower

I am already a clown, I do not need no parade.
But there are a few surprises and it is near a knights of Columbus.

Wasn't this one the first zero turn in '63?

That's a real classy ride for you Uncle Lewy!! Add it to your collection. I have never seen one of those before, but it looks like a real knee jammer.

“In 1949, Warrensburg, MO resident Max Swisher invented the very first commercially available zero-turn mower and called it the "Ride King". It was a three-wheeled machine - one drive wheel in front and two in the rear. The patented system utilized the front wheel as the drive wheel that also was able to turn an amazing 360 degrees. The wheel was driven by the motor in the same direction 100% of the time. In order to reverse and/or utilize the zero turn capabilities, you simply turn the steering wheel 180 degrees and the mower would move in reverse”

That drive would be great thru the hull of a little flat bottom boat!

I was trying to use that drive and mount it on the frt.of a dump cart , once
My neighbor had 3 swisher mowers ,he and his wife used them in tandem , they work good on hilly slopes ,your not going to turn one over , the ones he had anyway. ....some people want to mow as slow as they can ...it will happen to you , if you live long enough
