Cup holders

I wasn't sure which category this goes in but since it's not an OEM feature I decided it was a homemade item. I'm sure there are many of my cubcadet friends that want or have bear holders um I mean cup holders on their cubs including me, so its bragging time. Let's see some photos or a link for one you saw that in your wish list.

I have a 3" magnet that's rated for 45lb, I plan to attach it to some PVC pipe so I have a cup holder for plow day next year. I plan to paint it yellow so it doesn't look like crap.

1811woody 09-30-2018 01:17 PM

Thats a good idea never thought of that, 45 lbs you must like the tall boys or are you mounting a cooler lol

No hands...

1811woody 09-30-2018 01:27 PM

lmao, that's got to be the best its hard to see how you can beat it unless it had a way to keep things cool.

cooperino 09-30-2018 01:39 PM

My 126 has a built in cooler under the seat. Yeah I'm sure IH was not thinking that when they built it. But it coincidentally hold a 6 pack and ice:biggrin2:

1811woody 09-30-2018 02:02 PM

You can upgrade that with windshield washer pump and a hose plumbed in series in case your really thirsty and don't want to get up.

I don't drink so the cup holder will be for a 20oz pop bottle. The magnet needs to be strong to hold it against vibration.

Here is what I made pictured on my 149. The can is screwed into the wood with a washer.

I drug home a 1641 that had a large plastic mug screwed right to the side of the hood. It looked terrible.

1811woody 10-01-2018 12:07 PM

I'm thinking of a cup holder that would be mounted by silicon to the shaft cover I've spilled more cold beverages or hot coffee than I can count. I think olds45512 has the right Idea using the pvc painted cub yellow I may have to steal that Idea. I thought I would have a slot in the side for the handle.

Don't be like the PO of my 1250, he bolted a van cupholder to the fender to hold a drink. Now there are 5 bolt holes with corrosion around them on my fenders. The best part was that he used those square bolts that prevent the bolt from spinning.

I guess its mounted that way to keep a beverage hot :biggrin2: Any cup holder I have had on a tractor vibrated so badly that it would make a beer go flat in a couple minutes.

Drink faster

I never drink anything carbonated when mowing for this reason. Even holding your drink while you mow can get hectic with dash control hydro.

Think I might try something like this to eliminate vibration. Plus its self righting at least in one direction. I like the small concealable mount and that I can take take the holder off easily leaving the mount

I have used this on 4 tractors, and 2 ATV's,,, perfect results,, and it is insulated.
It will stick to diamond tread and not move,,

I purchased it from Amazon.

Is it big enough to fit a 20oz pop bottle?

rwairforce 10-05-2018 12:01 PM

If not I might suggest pouring your pop from the 20oz into a smaller container and refill when needed. I drink water so a water bottle should fit nice and it doesn't care about vibration.

Thanks for the idea. I just mentioned to my wife this past weekend, as she was bringing me a bottle of water, why in the heck didn't they put cup holders on these things.

rwairforce 10-05-2018 12:08 PM

Thanks CAD.
$10 on Amazon. Just ordered mine.

Does Cad have a deal with Amazon for pushing these ?? lol

1811woody 10-07-2018 11:57 PM

The one from Amazon would work for me if it had a slot for a coffee cup handle, I'll have to go for the ram mount cup holder they make really good products but a little pricey
