Cab Heater on a 3000 series with a Kawasaki engine
Anyone ever done this with the liquid cooled Kawi engine? I have an all metal Sims cab, wondering if worth doing if I want heat.

Cab heat is always a good thing while blowing up a blizzard in a "T" shirt :biggrin2:

Any heat better than none. Especially if you have glass in cab. Point A hose off heater at windshield to defrost!

You could run a loop to a finned radiator inside the cab. You would have to design a bypass circuit to turn on/off and/or moderate the coolant as the temp inside the can became too warm. A Circulating Fan would be even nicer.

If feasible I'll start hunting for a 3205 with a bad rear or hydro selling for a good price. There was one for sale a few months ago about 2 hours from me. Hydro pump was bad, asking $500. I should have jumped on it but sat on the fence too long. By the time I called it was sold. |

If you or anyone else wants. We have a few self contained heater cores in boxes with fans. We take the out of tugs with cabs. They have 2 2" ports coming off them one goes to the tube for defrost the other goes to a vent by feet. If i run out of used ones i have a source for new also

Judging by the picture looks to be 10" on each side? How much are they? My thought was to find a thin core that would fit in the area the battery is in. Not sure how yet, and have to add the thickness for a fan behind it. I'll keep this in mind though, thanks. |
Correct. inlet and outlet for water. It has a 12 volt fan in it. They are meant to be bolted to the inside of cab. I would run 2 hoses from coolant system with quick connects and same on heater side. Then when cab comes off in summer just connect the engine side hoses together

The type of box i have would have to be inside the cab. Outside would cool to quickly. The air would be cold before it got to you. The core just doesn't have enough capacity. Also the ones i have are used on systems with 3 or more gallons of coolant. The kubota system might not have the capacity of coolant to keep the core happy. Welcome to try one tho.

Well then cut it in half and it will use less coolant.
You are like me, it is a Kawasaki not a 3 pin driver. |
