Crazy electrical question 1810
Hello, today I purchased a very nice clean Cub Cadet 1810. The previous owner stated it had an electrical problem, and the shop he took it to diagnosed it as a bad coil on the Kohler M18. So I purchased it with that in mind. To make this long story short, it did not have spark. But I hooked up the wiring harness in the picture, that had been long disconnected. Still nothing, then I pulled out the fuse and holder in the dash, and it started right up!
It runs perfect, but without this fuse. So what the heck? thanks! |
First, welcome to OCC...........:Welcome2:

Sounds to me like the shop did not spend very much time on it.

If you like, I can send you an 1810 wiring diagram so you can go through the wiring.
:beerchug: |
That would be awesome, there are many mystery wires throughout. My email is mitchj8462@gmail.com
|
I'll send it in the morning.

The 1810 has two different Wiring Diagrams, depending on serial number range. What is your chassis serial number ??
:bigthink: |
I will need to check when i get home this evening. I will let you know- thanks!
|
OK, waiting to hear.
|
You can go here and look at/print both of them....
Scroll halfway down to Cub Cadet Garden Tractor Wiring Schematics, bottom of left hand column. https://www.ccpartsnmore.com/cub-cad...ing-schematics |
Hello Roland, mine is a model 149650100
And the serial # is 786697 |
It's on it's way.

I really need this schematic, the thing runs perfect with no fuse, everything works with no fuse, lights etc. But last evening I tried to mow, and the PTO switch will not stay engaged. I am going to trace this whacky wiring and find the culprit.

There are two fuses on your 1810. (A) is a system fuse (20A) (RH side) that protects everything, and (B) a fuse (10A) (LH side) for your Lights.
Do you know which fuse it is ?? :bigthink: |
Hey thanks a lot for the wiring diagram, found the issue, the wiring was hooked up wrong, the fuse wasn't even in line or hooked up to anything. All good, and everything works great!
